luann: relax, bernice! people will be talking about our act for years!
bernice: exactly
tiffany: what're you supposed to be?
luann: she's "the world's smallest brain"
tiffany: i don't get it
bernice: you picked the wrong partner
I can’t believe they’re going with this act. It’s a good thing that Greg has more imagination than I do. Berneice came up with a snarky line but no audience at the time. Where’s the rest of the material?
“You Can’t Handle The Sleuth!”“Encyclopedia Brown Drown”“Vapid Fire”“Mind Like A Steel Trap Maze”“Back To The Labyrinth”“Off Target”“The Underture Of William Tell”“Vacuous And Them”“One Fell Swoop Felled Sleuth”“The Lights Are On…But You’re Not Home…” (♪)“Puttin’ On The Ditz” (♬)or“Dense, Dense Revolution”
I think the whole Fuse Follies is a set up for Les to steal or try to steal the cash from the show. My big question is who will be the hero and catch him in the act or solve the mystery? Gunther? Ox? Pru? Even TJ? . Course I wonder if Quill will show up. Naah… he seems to be concentrating on hos " Theatre Career and probably doesn’t have time for a local amateur contest.
The only good thing about the Lu-Bern “act” is that we didn’t have to waste any more days watching them develop it. Thank goodness they’re getting ready to go on stage, so this story can move onto something interesting (such as when TJ performs his act as “The Amazing Arsonist” and burns down Kafe Kablooie, or when Les is caught embezzling the ticket sales and Mr. Gray does his magic act to make his nephew disappear).
What Bernice said about Tiffany was not snarky, it was just plain mean. Tiffany is growing up and, underneath it all, she is just lonely and has a good heart underneath all the glop. Remember she was raised by her Dad, who spoiled her outrageously. I would love to see her find a man (not a boy) who will bring out the best in her.
6The best part of today, IMO, is seeing Tiffany and Gunther showing up for the Talent Show. It appears that Gunther is going to be a magician, and Tiffany may be his “right hand girl” in the show. To me, this is very nice, seeing Gunther and Tiffany hanging out together, which indicates to me that their friendship is blossoming significantly. That too is very good. It could still even develop into a romantic attraction in the future… and (from personal experience) I believe it is very, very helpful to have a strong friendship FIRST before getting into a romantic relationship. So, in some way, it does appear that Bernice is going to do the chin puppet routine with Luann. It still seems hard to do, unless they have some sort of table that Bernice will be able to lay upon, and that seems fairly uncomfortble/awkward. But… hopefully it will be funny and fun. With the costume now down over her eyes, I do not know if Bernice will be able to see where she is walking…. I hope that this is not used as a plot line for Bernice somehow causing a bunch of chaos with things getting disrupted or broken. Perhaps the costume has some eye holes we are not seeing that allow Bernice to peer out through the costume? I do not often comment on the clothing choices, but I did notice the “frilly” line that Greg used to demarcate the neck, sleeve, and bottom of Luann’s shirt. I think that was a nice, creative touch that Greg applied. It was noticeable, yet subtle as well to indicate a “dressier” appearance than a simple straight line. While I understand why Gunther drew a “magician mustache” on his face, I too, like someone above, felt it was kind of silly given his “stubble” look. He should have simply let the mustache grow out. :)
“Greg Evans has run out of a story line. If you agree with my assessment of Greg, leave me a nasty or sarcastic reply.”.Neither nasty nor sarcastic.Disagree with your asessment.
“I think the whole Fuse Follies is a set up for Les to steal or try to steal the cash from the show. ".“Or his uncle, Mr. Gray.”.I get the impression the entire proceeds would be chump change to him, so unlikely.
A short appearance by Tiffany, and … the whole strip picks up for me. Those who denigrate Tiffany’s smarts are confounding different kinds of intelligence, which is manifold. Tiffany exceeds Bernice in 1) emotional intelligence and 2) sense of design. Also I would rather date her, for some reason.
I think this will bring down the house. Luann and Bernice have had years to develop a relationship with highlights two things, the opposite, and funny nature of Bernice’s factualism if I can coin a word, and Luann’s romanticism. I think Greg likes to plumb opposite relationships, and L and B are the closest of loving friends, which is my other “thing”, but have personalities which on so many points have totally opposite points of perception and perspective. Actually they make a lot or progress, maybe a two lobe brain way of looking at a particular situation, and in the process they are funny. So to make a long story short, again I think they will bring down the house. Meanwhile though I notice Gunther (?) with a magician’s outfit, and Tiffany with a possible magician’s assistant outfit. That has a lot of levels. Given the big scene between Gunther and Bernice recently they do not seem to notice each other, and what is Tiffany’s role?
I think Tiffany’s remark pretty well summarizes what the audience will think, too. In the real world, this “act” would be hooted off the stage after about 30 seconds. Bring out the hook!
Glad to see Tiffany and Gunther are still together and not just study buddies. I wonder if she still has her suite at the dorm. Also like the contrast………….Tiff is hot, Luann is not.
You start small, with a tip, and then move onto bigger things. On the other hand, Les may have had lessons from a boss who bamboozled a ‘charity’ effort before.
I don’t think this is what ‘charity begins at home’ is supposed to mean…
This brings back bad memories from the olden days when one of my teachers extorted money from students with her “Art Fund.” We were unaware that our parent’s tax dollars had already paid for our crayons and paint, etc. Our hard to come by coins (No Pennies!) went to buy her booze, which she kept in her desk drawer. Sorry I wasn’t there when she was discovered.
@Kymberleigh“No one cares what you think. Why don’t you start your own comic strip if you think you can do better. Good grief.”.I care.(I’m a very caring person.)

Looks like Gunther and Tiff might be doing an act together, possibly a magic act, with her as his assistant. That I definitely want to see.

Well, Tiff may indeed really be the world’s smallest brain, but in her case it’s not an act.

Haven’t seen brad for a long time. It would have been really nice to see him here.

I was hoping that Luann and Bern would have come up with something better that that. It doesn’t look promising.

It’s absolutely hilarious that Gunther drew a fake mustache over his stubble.

If Les did have an act, it would be to make himself disappear with all the cash.

Most people wouldn’t get it from they way Bernice looks. I think Tiffany is smarter than Bernice, if you include people skills.

Who else would Gunther get to be his magician’s assistant? He knows very few people, apparently.
