Luann: The bride approaches!! Brad: how do I look, TJ? the straight? hair ok? TJ: All good, Mr. groom. Brad: I just want everything to be perfect! I'm so nervous! I...I think I'm having a panic attack!! TJ: Brad? Listen to me. You'll be fine. Just do one simple thing: TJ: Look at your bride.

WOW!! THANKS MR. GUST. RADIANT!!

Anybody still want to criminalize or demonize TJ still I wonder?
MrGoobinski about 8 years ago
She is so out of his league! Ah, but love is the great equalizer, and Brad is a good guy.
MrGoobinski about 8 years ago
Never saw Toni look better than in that dress. What a figure! Don’t know when, if ever, a fire fighter had hips and cleveage like that.
Dreamdeer about 8 years ago
The simplicity of the dress is exactly right for the character—a no-fuss kind of gal.

Congrats and kudos to the winning designer (Mr. Gust)!
-
Congrats to the person about to be united with the “prize” in the dress, and the person also getting a “prize” in the Tux, as well (Brad and Toni)!
Gizmo Cat about 8 years ago
It’s a nice simple dress, but i was hoping for something less mundane, with black or colour. But glad it has no frills or studding, this is more Toni, elegant and down to earth.
JayBluE about 8 years ago
TJ may be a slick talking cad, and may have in the past been a slickster making some bucks off of people (Cough! Meal scam!). And a bit impulsive in his speech, sometimes (almost wrecked their relationship with his speech to Toni, in regard to Ann Eiffel, a.k.a. the “go fight, Toni!” talk)…. had a “blazing” performance of “Burning Down The House”, withtheir actual house, and…
-
But in this instance, his talents were channeled into a more constructive use, in regard to the wedding venue and catering…. And he at least knows what Brad needs most as the big moment draws nigh…

As I have said many times Toni is the number ! draw on Luann comics! Period! Greg please show her often and let us get the peek all of us men have wanted of her in a bikini! Lingerie would be good only as a second but we need MORE of her as the new bride to show off to her man. Draw her hot!

It looks very good.

I don’t think a lot of people hold to the tradition of not seeing the bride before the wedding any longer. Most people I know take pictures before the wedding so that the guests aren’t held up waiting for the bride and groom after the ceremony. My niece and her husband did some cute “first time seeing each other” photos. I admit there is something to watching the bride come down the aisle and watching their faces, but given that my niece (who didn’t have a huge wedding) spent about 2 hours taking photos before the ceremony ((family, all the wedding party, etc.) we would have waited forever. I guess if there is an open bar (which my niece didn’t have) people wouldn’t mind so much. Also, the light was much better when they took the photos as it was an outdoor ceremony. It’s all changed now.
dlkrueger33 about 8 years ago
When did they take a shower? Love Toni’s dress…I knew it would be simple and not over the top, but I would have liked a veil or headpiece of some kind. I’m surprised that this unveiling (pardon the pun) is taking place on a SUNDAY.
NeedaChuckle Premium Member about 8 years ago
I thought you weren’t supposed to see the bride before she walks down the aisle. I’m no fashion expert but I think a veil would be out of place with that gown. The nice thing is it could be used for other occasions.
Tyge about 8 years ago
In all the weddings I’ve been to, the bride always looks radiantly beautiful. All grooms, on the other hand, have this sappy, awe struck, look when they first see her. Next wedding you go to, check it out.

And, FWIW, Hubby and I got married on Thanksgiving evening, but we went to church in the morning. Just celebrated our 42nd anniversary, and are still waiting for our first argument.

I think it’s time we gave Greg and Karen a hand for showing us how good a professional team they actually are as opposed to the naysayers of long ago (don’t miss ‘em a bit) who questioned her real additive value to the strip. It’s clearly on display here.

And they got this clean just from washing up in a sink, with soap and a washcloth? I hate to think what they (and the fire crew attending as guests) still smell like. Underneath that tux and gown, the couple must still be filthy and sweat-drenched! Would it have been asking too much from this story to let them stop off at the fire station first, so that they could shower? Was it really necessary from the drama that they had to get to the cottage just in the very nick of time? Adn I’m sorry, but there’s just no way Toni’s hair could look like that when she has just come back from fighting a brush fire and has only rinsed in a sink. Give us a break!

And sadly, homeliness is no guarantee either. Just no simple litmus test.

PS. IMHO Luann has terrible taste in shoes… chunky heavy high heels is always what she wears when dressed up.

bdmiles1 about 8 years ago
I still can’t believe how dowdy Luann’s dress is.
RSH about 8 years ago
There are still a lot of unknowns. Where will they get married? Certainly not in a room at the cottage. Is there a chapel somewhere on the grounds? Or will they now travel to the Fuse and have the ceremony there? Did they get a judge? church pastor? (not a rabbi.. I’m sure of that..). I’m guessing they will now get in a car and travel to the wedding location.

After all that smoke exposure i am glad to see them able to breathe through their noses. That ability could be another indicator of having had steamy showers.
.
BTW, a different type of air pollution from wildfire smoke, but this might interest some here:

For me…. the dress is indeed very nicely drawn. I commend the artist(s). I think both TJ and Brad look nice.
.
I am one of the folks, however, that does like the tradition (I do not think of it as as superstition) of the groom not seeing the bride in her gown until the ceremony. In my manner of thinking, it adds an additional touch of emotion and feeling. But, that is not to be here at Brad & Toni’s wedding. That is “ok”.
.
I am wondering what a whole week of strips will be like concerning the wedding this week?
.
Is there still some potential “drama” to occur, or was the wildfire, which was apparently fairly straight forward and quite successful the “drama”? To my read of things, if Greg suggested “drama” was going to occur as many of the regulars have stated…. the wildfire does not read to me as being “drama” in the way I would suspect Greg would mean. So, I am thinking there still will be a surprising aspect of the scenario that still goes dramatically wrong.

I always thought it was bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony.
CAMom about 8 years ago
I don’t think the seeing the bride before the wedding is a big deal, but the bridegroom seeing her in her dress for the first time IS a big deal! I wish it hadn’t been in a back changing room, which is anti-climatic. I prefer the aisle as it is a true entrance for her to be seen by her groom, but even if they had seen each other outside, or in a nicer room would have been more special. Of course, for Brad, it will be special no matter what :>)
