Wow, I think we set a speed record for “diagnosis to treatment to instant cure.” It must have a been a chemotherapy developed by Polaroid. (Take a treatment, wait 30 seconds, and…)
I have to wonder if like the Sweatbox story, someone decided this wasn’t suitable for the comics, and ordered the story ended, ASAP.
She’s been undergoing Chemo for some time—evidenced by the scarf on her bald head—Its NOT a quick resolution, just something that came up in our storyline quickly. Sam’s been dealing with it for some time according to Tracy.
An early Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy Hanukkah to all my friends. I will be taking mom (age 96) to my brother’s house in Powder Springs, GA, for Christmas.
I had a feeling, too, that everything would be resolved in time for the holidays. I’m guessing Sunday’s strip will feature a big Christmas and Hanukkah celebration with the Tracys and Catchems, then the Spirit story arc begins on Monday.
Marge has certainly been undergoing treatment as evidenced by her scarf covering her hair loss. Sam was worried because of the sickness the chemo caused. The type of cancer was not mentioned.
My wife had breast cancer and had to undergo chemo. After the chemo treatments, it was pretty quick that she was deemed to be cancer free. My wife has now been cancer free for 7 years.
@blunebottle – Well if no one else is going to ask, can you expound on the mattress cover you are referring to? or maybe a direct email to 1soni @ sbcglobal.net
@tsull2121 said, 1 day ago> hey, I STILL CRY whenever I read the issue of Crisis on Infinite Earths when Supergirl dies
And not to forget Barry as well. Two of my heroes.
It took me a LONG time, but what ultimately showed me what I was feeling was when I started trying to learnfiction writing. When a character is so realistically designed, so it’s as though they’re alive, then that’sexcellent writing. Barry and Kara both was to me alive because I grew up with them. Barry was actually a hero tome because he wasn’t a rich guy with demons, or an amazonian princess — ner goddess, or an alien from anotherworld. Barry was just a police scientist who had a strange but wonderful accident and he thought only of thepeople he protected, and even sympathized with the villains. He didn’t hate them, or think small of them.Justice, Scientist, and empathetic. Who else could I take as a childhood hero?
Kara was very similar too. She was more like us. True she as spectacularly beautiful, but she was similar toBarry. More on the streets, than her cousin.
and when they was killed, I cried. It was a painful thing to know this may be the last I ever see them, and theydidn’t bring Barry back for a long time.
So I can understand fully why people feel for Mrs. Catchum, or Sam or the entire Tracy Universe PD. Mr. Gould,Mr. Collins, and the rest of the team wrote them very, very well.

In every life, sorrow must come
An unavoidable truth
That there’s no place to run
A day of reckoning and paying the price
The cost of living even if you’ve been pleasant and nice
Yes that day will appear
Bringing anguish and fear
If you’re alone or surrounded by many who care
There’s nothing to do but to dance to it’s tune
But fortunately for Marge we’re happy to say
That terrible tune wasn’t meant for today.

A good side story. Yes, it played out fast, but they had us guessing and speculating for several days. Thanks for another great year, Team Tracy!

Yay – Marge is cancer-free! Too bad there’s a leak coming from the ceiling, though ;-)
The old-style wrist radio worked well for the “look” of the panel.
