So the real question is this: Is Tara pushing her boundaries, or does she simply not have any?

The better question is who did Tara pose for.

As I have said before – when the Evans’s change arcs – usually they manage to make the new one interesting. However we got enough of Gunther & his Mom.

Hmmm, so far not as judgmental as I thought it would be when I peeked at Luann on ArcaMax before I went to bed. This ought to be a fun arc, and even though she is flawed I really like Tara. I await developments, but I still want to see if there will be convergence of any kind with the Ann Eiffel arc.

Apparently Tara is the new best-bud in G&K’s Lunann personality-development mind. She’s the perfect opposite to Luann. But will the “new things” promised in the Tara intro strips transform Luann into someone less stodgy or is Luann doomed always to be the female Charlie Brown? Or is it to get Luann into trouble?

Jack and Nil took that art class one semester too soon. But then Nils had beaten Tara to the nude scene already. (Remember That?)

Okay, you’ve got my attention now. Will the comic strip become a real strip——-tease?

Tara is the edgy, extreme, shake-things-up character of the comic.

We figured that out when she mentioned she doesn’t wear underwear about 14 times.

The Evanses move to a new arc when the dramatic tension is gone, not when the plot is fully resolved.

So what is going to be the central thread in this story line? For instance the lingerie saga was ultimately about the growth of Tiffany and Les, rather than the comeuppance of Ann Eiffel. It’s possible that Luann will get pulled in, if, as is likely, Tara is posing for an art class.

This should be a provocative week, to be sure. I am presuming Tara has volunteered or applied for a paying job for nude modeling in an art class (perhaps Professor Zebo’s?) I can imagine that Tara perhaps will encourage Luann to apply for a position as well, but I doubt that Luann will do so.

Presuming it is a Zebo art class, it would be likely that it would be a more advanced class (not an introductory class). With the lion’s share of community colleges having only freshman and sophomore level courses this would make it likely a sophomore class or classes that Tara would pose for. Perhaps Luann, Jack, and Nil are in such a sophomore class and will end up being “exposed” to nude model drawing this week when their class meets? We shall see.

At least in my region, nude modeling courses typically have both female and male models. So, perhaps a male model will show up as well if we see the course? If so, perhaps Nil or Jack will be models…. or perhaps…. since we haven’t seen him in a while… perhaps we will learn that Piro has this gig at PCC (Yes, he attends Moony U, but that would not necessarily prevent him from having that position at PCC.).

If Zebo is teaching the art course… I am wondering how he will pontificate about the nude form? His over-the-top nature could make for some entertaining commentary.

Before, when Tara applied for this job:

Tara: “… and I don’t wear underwear either. So, that makes it easier!”

Geez, Louise! Under what rock has Luann been living?! There is nothing unusual or unlikely about posing nude, particularly in a college environment for an art class in life-drawing, painting, or photography.

It would be different if we learned that Tara posed for an “adult” website, but I am reasonably sure that such is not the case here!

Yes Luann, people do get naked in front of others sometimes. Not everyone wants to join the Junior Anti-Sex League with the rest of your frigid little social circle. Of course we all know this is a moot point anyway; regardless of what Tara is saying right now, exactly no boundaries are going to be pushed in this storyarc or any other here. Remember the lingerie parties we’ve had that didn’t feature any actual lingerie? Ooh, a bunch of girls in long-sleeve shirts dancing around waving feather boas! How SEXY! (eyeroll) And what’s it say about this strip where the girl portrayed as “the slutty one” has never even gone to first base with a guy and it’s mere flirting that gave her that status?

Just saying, this strip is the sole exception to Rule 34, so let’s not delude ourselves into thinking Tara’s little announcement here actually means anything.

Wasn’t it Nil who had the hots for Bernice? Now if Tara would to recruit her for the art class model, Nil would be so nervous he might even brush back that hair from covering his one eye.

I imagine that we are continuing the theme that contact with the free spirit Tara is stretching Luann’s horizons.

On the other hand, let Bernice strip down, then put on a white, furry hat and some white, furry boots, and have Zebo tell everyone that she’s a Q-tip.

I remember a story in the “Campus Comedy” section of Reader’s Digest. The art class was taking a break and Mimi, the nude model, asked the teacher if she could have her payment now so she could cash her check at the business office before it closed. Mimi leaves, running through campus to the business office wearing only a skimpy silk robe. Teacher realizes he shouldn’t have let her leave dressed like that and follows. He comes back a couple of minutes later out of breath. Students ask what happened. He explains that he realized that the only thing worse than a half-naked woman running across campus would be having a frantic middle-aged professor chasing after her calling, “Mimi, come back, come back!”

Parallels: Luann encourages her theatre protege to cast aside her fears and inhibitions, and be the courageous girl she is (and not mumble & be controlled by her fears)…. Then someone says the same kind of thing to Luann, to encourage her to take some risks, push the envelope, try out some new behaviors etc, w the nude modelling for an art class. Who might say this? maybe her new-age friend, I forget her name (with the incense etc)…. Anyway, Luann IS in college, not in High school. That’s when young folks experiment, & discover themselves, right? Tally Ho, Greg!!

I had the opportunity to pose in the nude for the art department wa-a-ay back when I still had my looks. I could have used the money but my moral code said no. Dumbass moral code! I wish I had done it.

Somewhat easy way to earn money at art class. But you have to stay in one position for awhile and it can be tiring. As long as you are not “modest” and do well with others, you can do it if you can find a venue for that. I keep looking…

I’m beginning to think that Tara is the “Devil that sits on Luann’s Shoulder…” encouraging her towards the seedier side of life…. The only thing is, I can’t figure out who the “angel” is on the other shoulder. I can’t fathom it would be Bernice….

Anyway, yeah, we still don’t know the context of Tara’s action. If it’s for “art class” it might be one thing. If it’s for an “adult magazine” that might be a little different. Then again, I’d wonder how she was able to attract the attention of the magazine editor(s)…

I completely disagree that Starr and Knox are soulmates. Knox is crude and tormented; Starr is crude and like a butterfly.

I think in many ways Luann is shocked because she herself, while maturing slowly, has done so while keeping one foot in childhood. Gunther, Bernice and even Tiffany had left their teen years behind and had moved forward while Luann seems to want to remain in the comfortable stagnation of her youth.

All I can say is I’d much rather date Luann than Starr, if either.

A lot of you seem to be missing the truth. We just had spring break. Tara is going to be on the next Girls Gone Wild DVD.
