With Les not smirking as the door goes click, I figure he wants a copy of the list of lingerie customers.

Which means the police have not asked Tiffany for it.

Which means the police are awfully slow in Pittsville.

Or it means Tom did not make Ann call the police the night of the lingerie party.

An intriguing start to the week. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes.

Did I forget something that the now stepsiblings owe one another something to thwart the parents’ plans?

What ‘is’ it that Les needs, exactly?

The plot thickens.

Since we last saw Tiffany going for new eye shadow and lip colour, possibly Les thinks he can get a good deal on the cases of the old eye shadow and lip colour that Tiffany no longer likes.

I hope MORDY has been taking his blood pressure meds!

I still say Sheriff is about ready to pull out a bottle of dark blue ink.

I agree with @VILYEHM that Les is probably looking for the list of lingerie buyers. But what I’m not sure of is what he intends to do. He probably won’t go to the police himself, since they would have his record (including whatever theft he committed that he is reimbursing Ann for), so police would be mildly skeptical of any complaint filed by Les. I’m thinking Les may intend to send anonymous emails to those on the list, telling them they’ve been duped. He may hope one of them will go to the police…

Les looks like he’s ready to punch someone in the face in the first panel. I wonder what that’s all about?

Well Now. A Coupla Things:

1) Les KNOWS exactly where Tiff resides on Campus. Bad Sign.

2) Tiffany is willingly letting him in. Another Bad Sign,

3) What does Les want? I’m in agreement with VILY. He’s there for Ann’s guest list. He probably thinks that it’s time to over THAT over to Cops. And Guess what? I’ll give points for that. But he’ll probably end up getting “something else” instead.

4) Tomorrow will Les explain what he’s really there for and Tiff will tell him she’s moving on with her life?

If So, what happens after that?

A) Will She want to show her “appreciation” to Les for all his “help?”

B) Will R.A. Bernice Catch Les visiting? And is it after hours?

C) Or Will Bernice and Dez drop by to watch Star Trek and catch Les there. – OR -

D) Will Gunther show up at Tiff’s door to Visit/Watch Trek/Check to see how Tiff’s doing, See Les there and go into a Jealous Snit and making it damn near impossible for the 3 or 4 fans Gunth has left to defend him?

I’m voting “D” folks, though I’ve been wrong before.

I won’t speculate but it should be very interesting to see. This should be the continuation of the Ann angle in terms more of dealing with parents, rather than specifically the lingerie scam IMO. I think Tom Farrell, and Ann Eiffel, but how it plays out will be very interesting.

@SACTOSYLVIA: On my screen, Les looks the same as usual. Everyone so often he smiles (like when Nancy complimented him), but otherwise he always just seems to have that same expression. Like halfway between a scowl and an ‘I don’t care’ look….

I’ve got a bad feeling about this…

Les probably wants a list of all those who have already bought the fake lingerie from Ann Eifle so he can implicate her in her phony sales operation. Of course, he will want to be bribed to keep quiet. But he despises Ann and wants to smear her so she gets out of his fathers life.

“I’ve been doing lots of thinking and…well, you have something I need.”

-It ain’t anything to do with Ann and the list.

Tiffany never had possession of a complete guest list, but Les did when he manned the door for the party. Tiffany is the one who has possession of an example of genuine Souffle.

He’s going to be pretty surprised at how skinny she’d gotten all of a sudden.

It’s a very intriguing start to a new arc. She’s been loosing weight and he doesn’t have his usual weasel – like frown on his face. Looks like everybody’s doing some growing up?

I guarantee this is a fake-out, and he wants something non-sexual.

We’re now about to see Karen’s influence in this arc. Les will be a tamed character.

What does Les want? Well, certainly not the obvious, which is what is being shown over on 9 Chickweed Lane. (I’m surprised that it survived the night without the censors zapping it). No, I think that tomorrow will expose no more than Tiff’s “new look.” I hope that she continues to be the great fantasy female of the strip. If not, then Tera is waiting on the sidelines.

Ohhhhhh Boy! Well, this is a rather ominous start to the week. I’m thinking this is more along the lines of what Mordy suggested about Les coming to get the customer list back from Tiff. This in order to facilitate his legal obligations to his mother (and Uncle Al). I do hope Tiff made copies. Goodness knows what Greg/Karen have planned for them, but I truly hope they don’t send Tiff and Less down the “relationship road.” I’m sure that’s not going to end well for Tiff. Gunther and Tiff deserve each other. I guess we’ll have to see what unfolds, this week,

I wonder which Tiffany he will find. I presume GnK will surprise us.

@MORDY I’m now getting your queasy feeling about where this is going. If your long-expressed prediction/concern/fear turns out to be the case it willdamage my respect for GnK. Les’ cherry stem act at dinner was a bit crude IMHO, so they’re already down a peg. But Tiff told Gunther she “can handle Les”.

One is just left to wait… and hope.

“…you have something I need”

The inuendo of this statement in starting off the week with Tiffany now back in her dorm room has me feeling nonplussed. The “implication” of course, is meant to suggest romantic interest by Les. As many suggest, however, it is likely to be something akin to the Souffle Lingerie list.

However much I hope this week does not turn into Tiffany having romantic issues to deal with, I suspect it will end up being that way by Saturday. I am much more interested in seeing Tiffany deal with her familial challenges and her educational goals at this time. In terms of her own benefit…. I feel dealing with those challenges is far more valuable and important for her character development than her serving as a backdrop for a tug-of-war for her affections between Les and Gunther.

That said, however, I have to go with the flow…. and my read is that we will soon have Les and grumpy-gus Gunther both showing up and interacting with Tiffany. When and if they start quarreling…. I would love to see Tiffany tell them BOTH to “Vamoose!” as she exits her dorm to attend to something more valuable for her goals. But, alas, that is sure to only be a pipe dream.

Now…. if….. if we are meant to have a week of Tiffany “dating/romance discussion” panels…. I would like to see Piro get thrown into the mix somehow. He would be interesting and I would not mind seeing him interact with Les and Gunther. I think he would outwit both of them.

A meeting of the “Ann Eifel fan club”, should be interesting.

@PIPEetal: I doubt this new arc will be about romance. Otherwise, there is no joke in the “innuendo”. Also, I think it would be difficult to build a story arc along those lines that isn’t tragic. (They both need to work on their own parent issues before having any romances.) A more fruitful direction is to have this pair conspire against their parents, because that is really their obvious bond.

If Gunther shows up and hits Les with his back pack – he will no longer have Ox to defend him.

So modern dorm rooms have intercoms on the doors?

Despite all the negative comments, I believe Les is trying to be a better person. His unsmiling face doesn’t mean he’s mean; it could mean thatthere’s little in his life, except his job, that is pleasant. Consider havingthat bag for a mother, and an uncle who gives him little good feedback. I don’t recall his ever being praised for getting and holding a job. This is akid, remember, and needs pats as well as don’ts.

Is Less still on probation? If so he would also need to tell probation officer about the incident. Witch would also keep Ann from using it against him, she could try to keep him from saying anything to help Tiff with her father. Probation officer would probably also turn information over to proper authorities, instant headache for Ms Awful!

Les may want to borrow the phony lingerie, or Tiff’s hair spray, but why? He wants to take down Tom and his own mother? Again, why? Only reason I see is to defend Tiffany. I have to say he rebounded pretty quickly from the disappointment of Pru.

What if Gunther answers the door?

Les Knox is, I’m pretty sure, not up to no good.

But Tiffany, as she strives to regain her former svelte self, might be a formidable temptation to the once-Bad Boy.

On the other hand, she never goes All The Way with any guy, so probably after a little flirtation all will end well; that is, completely PG and Family-rated. Oh, well….
