Well OKAY. Gunther’s smile here is a Good, Very Positive Sign. That means he accepts the current situation and is going to let the “chips fall where they may.” IF Tiffany does show up, He has two hours to make an impression. H3ll, He might actually pull it off. At least he’s no longer whining. My favorite Nerd, might be turning the corner here, and even if he fails with Tiffany, he’ll be ready for the next young woman that enters his life.

The downside, is Le$’ acquiesce in agreeing to be gone from 6 to 8. Who’s to say he won’t pull an “end run,” leave early and head over to Tiffany’s place and “occupies” her so that she misses her date with Gunther? It wouldn’t surprise Me one bit. Or barring THAT, he may show back up at 8:05 saying he forgot something and then just hangs around for the next two hours?

Anyway for the first time this year, I’m getting slightly optimistic over Gunther’s chances for the future, in the romance department, if not with Tiffany, then with someone else, later….,

Secret. Strong enough for Gunther, but made for a Leslie.

Tiffany is about to use two guys like deodorants:

Tiffany needs to ditch these two gonads. They don’t mind sharing a girl, but freak when it comes to sharing deodorant.

I’m almost 70, have been married twice (over 30 years this time…great lady, love of my life), and had several girlfriends along the way. Your mileage may vary, but in my personal experience Les would do much better with women than Gunther. There are certainly some women that are attracted to beta males…but most really don’t like a ‘feminine’ man..at least not for a partner. I’m not talking about some arrogant jerk, but guys that are ‘too sweet’ are ‘friend zoned’ from the start. JMHO…

Typical testosterone infused male banter. So far Gunther is giving as good as he gets.

At this point I’d be less than shocked to see Tiff walk in with Al and Irma. Flush from their honeymoon.

Had roommates in college and for a few years beyond, I can relate. Clarification: I am female. Females do the same. The only things I drew the line with were lipsticks and toothbrushes. In fact, I think females are worse about borrowing stuff than the guys. They would raid closets to find the just-right shoes or purse or shirt or dress – whatever they need to complete an outfit for a hot date. They would raid makeups if they are out and forgot to shop or borrow clothes because they forgot to do laundry – while guys would just sniff their own clothes to re-wear whichever is the least smelly. You get the picture.

Seriously, this is the ’pits! :D

They took the situation incredibly well. Maybe this cohabitation is really good for both of them. Has teach them how handle the anger.

I am glad to see Gunth using deoderant. My first thought was that he was shaving his arm pits.(No. Gunth)

Only one bathroom? I would think that they would have their own.

I don’t know why Gunther agreed to live with him. Les, on the other hand, would do anything for free housing AND he probably assumes that he’ll end up driving Gunther out eventually.

Neither of those those have a shot of getting what Les is implying here from Tiffany. She has that much sense. (Hopefully.)

Deodorant? Why do I think that Les used WD-40?

While both guys are seeing their time with Tiffany as a DATE, does Tiff see it that way or is she just having dinner then dessert with friends?

Gunther is acting atypically for his character. In panel 1 he’s being direct and assertive. Compare that to his more typical introspective (dare I say whiny) reaction in yesterday’s third panel.

I think the only guy that is not Tiff around is Luann’s dad.

Ok let’s take a vote on who we want Tiffany withA. Gunther B. Leslie C. Some new guy Imma say if some new guy wasn’t an option I would pick Leslie because at least he never dissed Tiffany saying he was too dumb to be with her and chased another girl. And Leslie can express his feelings

Here’s my prediction: Dinner and desert go fairly well, considering. And as desert wraps up there is a knock at the door. It’s Tiffany’s date for the evening – JACK. He is picking her up after her dinner with her “pals” to take her to a movie.

Ok! Let’s play the scenario game. What would be the best expected outcome from this Housewarming episode for each of the characters. Ground rules are 1) consistent with a family strip (somebody else can joust with the darker side of the comments) and 2) assuming Tiffany is still interested in either or both of these flawed characters.

Gunther: Best outcome is that he convinces Tiffany of his desire that she see him as more than just a friend and accepts his warning about Les, first delivered after the dinner episode.

Leslie: Les lures Tiffany with more of his schtick about Uncle Al’s showbiz contacts and cements his continued access to her with hints of further help with her Ann “Eyefull” problem.

Tiffany: Tiffany comes away with two solid suitors working her charms to perfection with both.

Tiffany wild card 1: After dinner Jack arrived to drive her to the exercise spa to help her regain her former svelte and picks up a potential third suitor.

Tiffany wild card 2: Tom Farrell appears at the door having kicked Ann “Awful” to the curb, seeking reconciliation and reconnection.

By next Saturday we should know! :o)

My Prediction: After the Sunday stand alone comic – G & K jump to an arc featuring Shannon. Later on we will hear a line or two that summed up the Tiffany visit.

Next week: Tara is caught drinking beer with Fay and Axel.

O.K. Time to call in a contractor and turn this house into a duplex. Separate living qoarters.

Honestly, it’s much more likely that Knox stole the deodorant from Gunther, not vice versa. Knox probably doesn’t buy any of his own things.

Am I completely wrong for thinking a continuing interest in Tiffany makes Gunther’s depth look questionable? It’s ridiculous! She’s not malicious anymore, but she’s still ignorant. Being in the woods because a school project shoved them together makes sense, but asking her on a dinner date?

And then Tif arrives with HER new boyfriend for dinner and dessert.

Gunther doesn’t wear an undershirt? Didn’t think Mama would let him get away with that.

Irma is delighted when she walks in on Gunther, Les and Tiffany. Maybe we can still get that dinner party I always wanted with Ann and Tom Farrell there as well. Ulcers are in the making…

tomorrow: Knute and Crystal testify before Congress.

Never do this bathroom stuff with another guy. It reminds me of basic training with 10 times the guys and a steamy, wet, awful smell.

This is the stage that starts next week, This cannot go off into another arc next week. How it turns out I, for one, will wait and see, but again hilarity ensues.

As long as they don’t spray that ‘Axe’ stuff all over - but Les probably will! :)

There’s a fine line between optimism and self-delusion, Les, and I’m fairly certain you’ve crossed it.

I like this semi light hearted teasing back and forth. As housemates, they are getting along… as well as can be expected considering how different they are.

That sucks! We all know there’s going to be an “arc change” here. : /

Reminds me of that horrible moment when my brother and I realized we had been using the SAME TOOTHBRUSH for a few days. We were in high school and I was going about my nightly routine and he decided to get ready for bed too. Once in the bathroom, we both grabbed for the same toothbrush! Turns out, our mom bought new ones a few days before and my brother and I failed to stake our claim so we both had been using the green one instead of the blue one. It was the most disgusting thing ever. The screams my parents heard from the bathroom were legendary. Parents running up the stairs to see what was going on as we were screaming and gagging and spitting into the sink and threatening to “drink bleach!!!”. It was a sight to behold!

I’m thinking Tiffany didn’t understand the invitations and thinks she is having dinner and dessert with both of them.
