I favor ughlessness, the spelling of the future. (Already great strides if you consider how we’ve managed to ditch it from plow, hiccup, thruway, tho, sluff, and many others; eventually we’ll be down to just bughouse, where the 3 letters are spread over 2 separate syllables.)
It’s no less annoying than when people misuse their, there, and they’re! Or your and you’re… or to and too…. heck, any misspellings are annoying. We have spellcheck for a reason!
These mistakes are only cute when they are from little first and second graders learning to write. You have to expect little ones to make writing mistakes. In their case, it is just wonderful to see that they are making the effort. By the end of elementary school, they are supposed to have learned enough to get beyond most of Trump’s mistakes in writing.
the point of the article is to show what a buffoon trump is because all of these “misteaks” are his on twitter. all of these misspellings are by the miss-speller in chief. grammatical as well as spelling.
Looking at all these comments, it would appear that the bots have won. The American political system is just a pretty bad denial of service attack on its constituents.
English spelling is the most idiotic in the world Phonetic spelling would be far better. Example Korean. Back a thousand years or so ago they Used Chinese, which only the government bureaucrats could spell or read. So one of the kings back then called in his best and brightest and told them to make a language that everyone from the peasants on up could read.. They did and today Korean is one of the easiest written languages to learn. Its phonetic for one thing, meaning how you pronounce the word is how you spell the word and its alphabet has fewer letters in it than English does. Unlike English, where how words are spelled and how they are pronounced makes English one of the hardest languages to learn, yes, even for those of us born in the US.
And I would have thought Trump would have reserved the use of those alternative spellings to himself, the way the color purple was once reserved for the use of royalty.
In case no one’s been listening: Trump’s base voted for him because they resent “educated” people mocking them all the time as “deplorables”, bad spellers, etc. Trump now uses such mockery as fuel to energize his base, so while it may be momentarily satisfying to the mockers, they’re really helping him stay in power, which is too bad, for obvious reasons. The timing of this strip is particularly inapt, coming as it does just after the ghastly Kavanaugh debacle. Stop feeding the beast! Thanks.

Apparently, proper spelling wasn’t necessary to get into Wharton (only Daddy’s money was needed).

I thought many women voted for Trump. I think of them as the wives of Gilead.
And, it’s Fa3ke. The 3 is silent.

Hopefully he’s unpresidented after 2020. Hopefully the Dems put up someone decent to run.
Lotta hopes.

As for the misspelling …. what do you expect from a man who is barely literate, and by his own admission, hate to read ?
