A lady who prefers to not waste time with idle chatter, Tabitha springs into action. Break the lock? Not important when there is a friend in jeopardy! Tabitha es un in buena chica!
Aww, Elvis is worried about his friend and asking if there’s a button’s a legit question, Tabitha. I just LOVE watching them getting along while still driving each other nuts.
And all the new cast members now have names! Admiral Whiskers must have had quite the distinguished service to rise so well through the ranks.
Further news about Callie, Leila and Maya: The three once-abandoned cats have settled in at the foster home and are quite comfortable. Their hosts are delighted with them and think they’ll have new homes by Christmas. Pictures here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/56506989@N02/44714122145/in/dateposted-public/
I knew it was one of the boys’ pointers and not a cue stick!
Side note. Admiral Whiskers, huh? So is that Admiral Whiskers, Ret. OR is Admiral just an honorific here. Kinda like Harland Sanders being Colonel Sanders. (Yes, I know Admiral Whiskers is probably his name and not a rank or an honorific given to him by the yacht club)
In the weeks following Maxie, the Maine Coon, beginning work at The Purrloined Litter, business began to take an upswing. Now it shouldn’t be said that Kip was bad at what he did, but he was away a lot of nights and poor Rusty sometimes got overwhelmed (not that he’d admit it, of course). It was just that on certain nights this little watering hole got pretty busy. Kip always looked at it as easy for two active Toms to handle, but then he’d bail and leave Rus to handle the inevitable rush by himself. That, however, was the old Kip- the player, the Ladies’ Tom. Reliable sources had come to Megan and said Kip was happy being daddy and hubby, and living in a huge back yard in sunny Southern California.=============
=====Maxie himself took to the “Litter” like he was born there. He just fit. Good-natured, likable, he was the classic ‘package’- Queens wanted him, Toms wanted to be him. And he got along with everyone, especially Rus. They ran the place like they genuinely enjoyed it. Also, although there seldom was trouble in the past, Rus felt very comfortable knowing there was a 36-inch long, 30lb Tom watching his back (Maxie would be the first to admit this was not what he told Tre-C when first they met, but he did not watch the scale closely at all…).
I had to read this a couple of times to get who said what (possibly because I’m so anxious to get Puck out I’m reading 5,000 times faster than usual on each pass). I ADORE Tabitha and Elvis’ repartee ending with: Elvis, “Do you think?!” Tabitha, “NO!” which had me chuckling. Then I realized that when Tabitha yells “Puck, stand back!!! I’ve got the pointer” the sweet, smart, helpful boy’s response is “Did you make a chart about trunks?” I started laughing so hard my Kira got alarmed and almost jumped off the bed! And she’s used to me laughing!
Pucky, with his ears back and Tillie’s arm around him really tugs at the heart strings. The RCO Logo also is looking afraid. The drama and feelings of angst are getting to critical levels. Halloween is tomorrow Georgia! Happy ending….right?
“Making a chart about trunks.” Sounds like the Woman’s critique of me when I first started trying to help Josh (the Boy) with high-school math homework: “If he asked you what time it was, you’d tell him how to build a clock.” (I went to school to be a math teacher, so I tended to get bogged down in the finer points of why you use the FOIL method to multiply polynomials, etc.)
Good morning and happy Tuesday/Bluesday/Mewsday, orbsters and orbabies. I wonder if that pointer is a strong enough lever for Tabitha and Elvis (once he gets over his astonishment in the last panel). It’s good to see that Puck has enough spirit left to ask if a chart about trunks was made. And where, oh where, are Lupin and Sir Figaro Newton??
On another front, Paul had his first follow-up CT scan yesterday, along with blood work. The results were posted in Paul’s online hospital file and, from what I can understand, the results are excellent and he is still cancer-free. We’ll know for sure when we see the specialist next Wednesday.
Greetings, fellow BCN fans! I’ve followed this for about a year, but just decided to join go comics so that I could join your lovely conversations. Oh Puck, the sight of your ears down just broke my heart! It’s such a testament to Georgia’s skill that we’re anxious even as we know Puck will be ok. The mixture of tension and humor is so effective. And yes—“Did you make a chart about trunks?” is pretty much perfect beyond words. So glad to be a part of this community!
My money is on Tabitha and one tool of destruction. If she is anything like me all she needs is an hour and a crowbar and she can demolish an entire room. My friends swear they’ll never leave me alone with a crowbar again.
I spoke to the vet yesterday about Jasper and he thinks Jasper broke the cartilage in his leg and that’s why he is not getting better. I am waiting for the info from him on a ortho vet but if that is the case then Jasper will need surgery. On a better note today we are celebrating Dually’s (my Weimaraner) 10th birthday. A great milestone since he wasn’t expected to live past 1yo. He has a hole in his heart that I have to keep filling up with love. So tuna for the cats and canned chicken breast and peanut butter (dog ) ice cream for the boys.
I wonder if the latch on that trunk is like the latches on cabinet doors on trains. They don’t have knobs because being bounced into one would HURT! Instead, they have a small plate with a hole in it. To open one, you insert a pen or pencil in the hole, the latch pops, & the door springs open.
If that’s the case (no pun intended) with the trunk latch, the pointer should be the perfect “key.”
OMG! Georgia just announced on Facebook… Individual PJ pins now available in the GoComics store! Get ’em while they last! * sighs jealously from Canada *
I’ve been thinking about the lack of opposable thumbs. For one cat, that would be a problem. But the whole point of opposable thumbs is that the thumb can oppose the other fingers. TWO cats can create the same effect by working in cooperation, one paw opposing the other. Of course, that would require Crabby Tabby and the Siamese You Cannot Please to cooperate with each other. Poor Pucky…

Tabitha’s gonna hurry
Just take heart
We’ll make a chart
The trunk may be a lot of trouble
But we’re there on the double
We’ll break the lock
On that box
Hang on, help is here to stay
We’re gonna get Puck out somehow
Hang on, help is here to stay,
Very soon even if not quite now.

Hi fellow BCN lovers!
I’m back, OK, and the patch is off during the day, but still on at night.
I want to thank all of you who kept me in their “good thoughts and wishes, bumps, purrzzz, and prayers” yesterday morning. IT DEFINITELY HELPED
At least, the cataract surgery went well, and was over quickly.
Yesterday was a complete blur b/c I got less than 2 hours of sleep the night before…and I was tired with a capital T.
I feel OK today, which is fine (age related owies are normal).
Again, thanks for your support!
