If nothing else, I hope your neighbors understand the phrase “silent night” better than my midnight firework- and noisemaker-happy ones! (My kitties are not terribly happy about the bangs – it’s a bold choice we’re immediately regretting.)

When I was in first grade, I was chosen to recite this poem. Not sure it would pass current rules for Christmas pageants, but I still remember it! My memory isn’t exactly the way Eugene Field wrote it, but I’m certain that’s the version I was given.

Why do bells at Christmas Ring?

Why do little Children sing?

Once upon a shining star

Seen by shepherds from afar

Gently shone until it’s lightMade a manger’s cradle bright

There a tiny baby lay

Softly tucked upon the hay

And its mother said and smiled,

“This is Christ, the holy child.”

I will be home with just my kitties today, but one friend told me that he would call me on the phone (he is in Arizona) and another said that she would stop by in person.

The other day, I had a nice visit with a friend who is 92 and does not drive anymore (her daughter dropped her off and went to gas up the car). She gave me a book for Christmas.

Then, yesterday, the friend who gave me the little kitty blanket for my birthday stopped by and gave me a gift (a mug that has a kitty face on the side with the words “Crazy Cat Lady”).

Last evening, as I was at my computer, I heard a knock at my door. When I got to the door, no one was there, but there was a big present sitting on my porch. When I opened it this morning, it was a beautiful quilt with a pattern of kitten faces. I thought to add it to my bed, but I sleep in a full sized bed, and the quilt is only a twin. Oh well, it can be used (if needed) on my couch.

Merry Christmas fellow BCN fans! I got the 2019 BCN calendar as one of my presents! .I looked through it already & it’s cute! <3

Thank You & Merry Everything to Georgia & family once again for your amazing gifts of creative warmth. And lots of purrs, boops & headbutts to the wonderful Orbsters who have literally helped me to survive. I spent last night watching “It’s A Wonderful Life” with my cousin thanks to the wonders of Skype, got waked up with a special Merry Christmas BITE!! from Foxy, and got a set of Mae West DVDs from a dear old friend! When I’m good, I’m very good — but when I’m bad, I’m better!
