Ann once had “intentions” for Bernice. Would this be something Tom might like to find out – that his main squeeze may not exactly be into guys?

Also, by that, just exactly what does Ann mean by she can “handle” Tiffany?

It occurred to me today that this is all about Ann getting revenge after Tiffany uncovered her lingerie scam. I wonder if her son, a schemer in his own right, and her brother, who apparently “knows people”, will be involved before this resolves.

Dumb move on Tiff’s part, calling her dad in front of Ann. What did she EXPECT to happen? Daddy breaks up with evil Annie? He’s already made it perfectly clear that he’s going to believe anything Ann tells him, and Tiff is wasting her breath trying to convince him otherwise.

Tiffany – face it. This is not Ann’s first rodeo. She handles men like your dad like a master puppeteer. You’ve lost your dad. Forget him – find someone who is Ann’s equal – TJ. Ann doesn’t know you know TJ, Bernice, Luann and Brad…and yikes, Shannon. Take that advantage to pull the rug from under her. Let TJ do what he does and run her out of town – again.

Control, over Tom and over Tiffany. That is what Ann apparently has. Tom feels his daughter is disturbed and troubled, he is paying for her counseling remember? She is a very disturbed, depressed young woman, but she has been trying hard to be resilent and be the kind of confident (might it be false) young women she tries to project, but Ann, the manipulative vulture that she is swoops down and feeds on any weakness she smells, she rips into the flesh of that person, and that relationship. Oh she is good, she is evil, Tom and Tiffany are offal. I hope this arc eventually surprises, right now it is a dark as can be. Oh it could be darker, that is scary.

Public service announcement: You’ve seen what Ann Eiffel can do. There are plenty of real life Ann Eiffels out there. Lately I keep seeing posts on social about various people supposedly guilty of various dastardly deeds (yet curiously not in jail for it) with their names and pictures exposed, and the caption, “Let’s make him/her famous!” (by which they mean infamous) with instructions to pass this on to all your friends. But before you do, please ask if there is an Ann Eiffel behind it. How do you know it’s true? These people don’t get fair trials or a chance to clear their names. There are all kinds of diabolical reasons why someone might want to ruin an innocent person’s reputation from the anonymity of the internet. Don’t pass on accusations that have no proof.

Ann’s not even having to try hard here. I mean, Tiff is in complete la-la land if she can really believed this would go down any way other than it has. Best I can come up with is that this is a “teaching moment” for T as to what the world is really like. The Anns of the world don’t deserve to win, but they just do. Hell, one got elected president and this country is full of Toms who are still happy about it.

I don’t comment much. This is actually good for Tiffany. She’ll have to learn to stand on a lowered budget. I don’t like the way Ann is slowly but surely edging Tif out, but, if getting Tiffany to spend less on clothes and makeup is a truly a bad thing, I’m all ears. Tiffany has made serious strides from vapid plastic vile and scheming wretch to having friendships and caring about others. But, she is still pretty shallow, focusing on things that won’t help her in real life, like shopping. She should start focusing on getting a job, methinks nepotism would work in her favor here. Maybe getting a job within Dad’s corporation will help her in the long haul save it from Ann. Because Ann has become hydra and unless Evans writes in a nice gruesome gory definitely dead death scene for the ….. woman dating Tiff’s dad, she’s going to need an arsenal of tools to fight for what’s rightfully hers.

I cannot remember: Is Tiffany’s mother dead? Or are the parents divorced? If just divorced, here’s a cool development: Enter Tiffany’s Mom. Mom intervenes with Tom on Tiffany’s behalf. Mom and Ann Awful butt heads: (Cat fight? or just undermining each other?). In the end, Tom dumps Ann Awful and gets back with Tiff’s Mom. Hilarity ensues. LOL. Hey, once we get rid of Ann, Tiff’s Mom can leave Tom again because, as we see here, he’s a freakin’ JERK.

Alright, Tiff… Moment of Truth! You see for yourself that Ann has your father wrapped around her fingers. Do you want to break free of that control or not? Tell your father you’ll go on your own and find employment. It might hurt for a bit… you might have to get to work now and finish your degree a bit later, but it will be worth it in the end. You’ll be free of Ann… she won’t have anymore leverage against you!

Tiff fails to grasp the situation. Her father is infatuated with Ann and all he sees is a shapely woman that adores him and cares for him. I was like him once, till I started seeing the other side of my squeeze. I had to make a decision as to whether I wanted to have her great body and her mercurial personality. In the end, I let her go. I couldn’t see a life of “coffee, tea, or me” and “drop dead, get outta my life.”

The problem a lot of us reader are having is that Greg already knows how this arc will resolve. Assuming Ann will get her comeuppance, as she has twice in the past, he views this torturous path for Tiff as merely a buildup to the playoff.

We, the readers, however do not have that foresight and therefore all this is a long, drawn out pain in the canasta!

Know what I’d like to see? I’d like to see Tiffany’s MOM return to town and attempt a relationship with her but only if she’s a truly good person who really loves her daughter. She doesn’t have to be rich—just caring and supportive. It could make for an interesting transformation for Tiffany as she continued her journey in life, once Ann separates her and her father and kicks her out of his life completely! Tiffany needs someone on her side for a change. Les and Gunther don’t count. They don’t love her unconditionally. No one does. She needs that badly.

This is quickly venturing into telenovela land:

    1. I am annoyed as hell at Tom “Cat” Ferrell.

    2. I am annoyed at the obnoxious Ann Eiffel.

    3. I am disappointed in Tiffany’s choice to call her paternal chromosomes provider in front of Ann.

    4. I am not looking forward to the hurt that Tiffany appears to be in line to face from all of this.

So, for me this was not a fun experience today. I am quickly beginning to dislike this arc. I hope it leads to something positive. But, right now…. it is just feeling too unpleasant.

Well, it’s a longshot, but Hopefully this arc will end with Tiffany breaking ties with Ann and Tom. Sure, It may play into Ann’s hands for the moment, but it’ll send a LOUD and Clear message to Tom.

Imagine. Tiffany goes out on her own and gets a job and becomes self sufficient. And at the same time shows her Dad what she’s really capable of. And Lo and Behold, Tom does something he’s NEVER done before. He becomes PROUD of his daughter. And Who knows? Maybe if Tiffany gets that job with Soufflé in Paris, she’ll meet Mr. Right. Yeah. I’d be disappointed that it wouldn’t be Gunther, but It would be a 1,000,000 times BETTER than her casting her lot in life with the Loathsome Les.

And I may be the lone voice in the wilderness here, but I LIKE the drama that Ann brings to the Strip. So THERE! ;)

This is the point where Tiffany needs to step back and take the council of friends (she does have friends) and their parents. Mr Grey appears to have substantial experience with Ann and her antics. If Tom is foolish enough to believe that Ann is the love of his life then he is beyond help and should be left to his fate. Tiffany despite appearances is a smart person who’s never really tested her abilities. I expect she could grow into a successful life with the help and support of her friends. Given Ann’s willingness to break the law, it’s not hard to imagine a fall is coming no matter what Tiffany does.

We all don’t like Tiffany’s less than well thought out responses to Ann and her maneuvers. But we have to realize: (1) Tiffany is 18. Ann is probably about 37; (2) 18 yr girls don’t always think before speaking or acting. (3) Its two against one w/ the decks stacked against Tiffany; Ann and Tom are conspiring together on all of these maneuvers. Tiff needs some coaching and counseling of her own to outsmart Ann (and her dad for that matter). No one is better for the task than Mr. Gray, Ann’s brother who knows her inside-out and has a mind for her type of thinking.

Not by whining and complaining. If she wants to win Tom’s respect, she’s going to have to stand on her own two feet. Get a job, move out on her own, cut up all of Daddy’s credit cards, and stop trying to come between her dad and the golddigger. Because what she’s doing sure ain’t working. So…what Luann up to these days? I’d much rather get back to her and Jack. I’ve got enough drama in my own life to worry about the drama in Tiffany’s.

I thought Tiff was nineteen or twenty. Eighteen means she just got out of high school. She’s been in college what? two years now? Twenty years old still wouldn’t make her Ann’s equal, but she could show a LITTLE more maturity. Her reactions/responses are those of a spoiled, bratty ten year old child.

You know? There’s an Irony here that I think we’ve overlooked.

Ann’s declaration that she can “Handle” Tiffany. Frankly, I think it’s in extreme bad taste to tell your boyfriend that you can handle THEIR Adult daughter. But Ann tells Tom today he can “Handle Tiffany,” and Tom apparently, approves.

The Irony here is this. Almost exactly a year ago, Tiffany declared to Dez and Bernice, that SHE could “Handle” Ann’s “son,” Les:

    https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2018/01/20

So what We have here is, Ann “handling” Tiffany’s Father Tom, while Tiffany (thinks) she’s “handling” Ann’s “son” Les. In the meantime, Ann is “handling” Tom and TRYING to “handle” Tiffany.

It’s all about “handling” or “control” here. But when Ann does it, she’s “evil.”

The BIG question now is: Will Tiffany allow herself to be “handled,” or will she break-free as many of Us Think/Hope?

Tomorrow (or Maybe next week) should be interesting…….., ;)

That drove her to using food as an escape. With a little help from friends and counseling she gets over that and becomes the new “love yourself” Tiffany with an extra 20 lbs and some friends. But there’s still more growing for her to experience and Greg is now tackling the issue of her dad’s $ which Tiff is still addicted to in all its excesses. It’s too bad Ann Eiffel has to be part of this equation but hopefully Tiff will emerge again in even better form.

Ann gives me a visceral reaction. She is such a sociopath. I hope Tiffany can grow as a person and become more independent through all this. Ann is slowly cutting Tom off from Tiffany (and anyone else in his life) he won’t realize this until after they’re married.Tiffany was a pain, but she didn’t deserve this from Ann (or Greg Evans).

Doesn’t Tiffany already have a job in the office at the daycare/preschool where Luann is a classroom assistant?

I have a feeling Ann has found her permanent place in the comic. Normally she’s been like team rocket, a villain who is regularly defeated by the main cast. I don’t think Tiffany is going to be scoring any knock out punches on Ann and it’ll be more of a constant annoyance.

Just not finding this arc fun…funny or enjoyable. See to much of this crap in real life. Why do us men allow some woman to come in and push our children aside. Never understand it.
