For the record: at home, we use a 12-cups-Bialetti (about 3 mugs), usually with freshly ground, decent coffee – or ground when we’re on vacation at a friend’s house.
Elsewhere: As long as it’s not decaf, we’re not picky. And no soy-milk, please.
The ChemEx has been around since 1941 and makes a superb cup of coffee. It’s a beautiful piece of glassware made in Massachusetts. I only have one cup of coffee a day and enjoy the time it takes to brew 18 g of coffee beans medium-coarse ground freshly brewed coffee filtered perfectly. I enjoy every sip. I’m feel very fortunate that I have the time to enjoy it. I don’t disparage others who brew and enjoy coffee differently. I would just recommend that if you have a chance to have someone brew a cup of coffee using this method, take the opportunity. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
I’ve had some of the best coffee and some of the worst. I’ll even take gas station coffee, no problem. At home it’s Folger’s Black Silk. Black, of course. I do like me some coffee, but I ain’t particular.
Not a true snob, he should at least know what region in Ethiopia and better yet which farm/co-op the beans came from. And seriously, sun dried over the wet hulled fermented process for better fruitiness in the cup. ;-)
As an Old Navy Radioman where the coffee was always brewing and the “Smoking Lamp” was always “Lit” (We worked 24hrs a day)… I buy my beans at Trader Joe’s and blend them my selfbefore grinding _ Am no “Coffee Snob”!
My only requirement is that when held up to light in a clear glass you cant’ see through it…..I never smoked though…never …Didn’t have to – the radio room always had a blue haze in it…
Love 7-Eleven coffee, black no sugar, but has to be in paper or china cup, no plastic or foam cups. Preferably Brazilian or Columbian, not Regular, best is half Brazilian, half Columbain.
When I was a first term Airman, we called coffee “Lifer-Juice,” and we drank Diet Coke in the morning. Now, Beautiful Wife builds my Bullet-Proof KETO Coffee with Jacob’s Kronung brewed in our Ninja Coffee Bar, Cold Processed Coconut Oil, KerryGold Unsalted Butter from Grass-Fed Cows, NOW Pure Stevia, and a splash of Heavy Cream. My how times have changed…. I may well be the poster boy for Coffee Snob.
I used to drink mine with milk and sugar. A friend told me that if I tried it black I would learn to love it in about 2 weeks. Took me 2 days! So much better!!! My favorite is Pablo’s Pride medium-dark roast whole beans. More expensive is Starbucks Komodo Dragon beans. Puts the “dark” in dark roast. Our cafeteria, about 200 yards from my office, has a Starbucks with 18 ounce refills for 2 bucks. I take lots of walks. ;-)

Try Vietnamese coffee – but order it at the same time as your dinner because it won’t be ready until you’re finished. But totally worth it.

I would have to start with a coffee before doing any of that, then I wouldn’t need that coffee.

Just give me a medium roast, Columbian coffee served black (preferably Eight O’clock brand). Anything else is superfluous.

I drink coffee with caffeine in it for about 25 cents a cup brewed at home. I put the money saved in my retirement fund.
