Off topic: Thanks to all who responded to my concerns about the post-surgery cone for Midnite on Monday. She is recovering well, hated the cone; sulked like she was being beaten and bumped into everything. Vet said we could take it off if we watched her. She has not hassled her ear since, so we have left it off. Hopefully she will not mess with her stitches and fully recover. Blood work showed no diabetes (sugar was a little high) but haven’t yet gotten the pathology report. Should hear tomorrow or Monday. Boops and hugs to all. Thanks again!
If Lupin does not control his coffee addition, his friends may have to have an intervention. He might end up at facility; Maxwell House. Dr. Hank Folgers will help Lupin remove the millstone of coffee addiction from around his neck. Alas, Lupin is not alone in his quest to not be a jittery joe. The Hill Brothers, the Dunn Brothers and Juan Valdez are all patients. The best time at Maxwell House is in morning, Eight O’ Clock, when they have a home made danish that is chock full o’Nuts.
I can just see Puck reading the opening CN story tomorrow. “In today’s news, a local cat wanders like a zombie through the Pink House because someone” – ::delicate cough:: – “forgot to order our monthly supply of kat koffee.”
Is anyone else wondering what happened to Puck’s arms in the last panel? In my mind’s eye I see them clasped behind his back and he’s leaning a tad forward up on the balls of his lower paws….
On Georgia’s FB page there is a photo of a review of Lupin Leaps In from the School Library Journal. It is a Rave! Review! They love it. There is a link to their site but it looks like you need to log on to actually read the review. I was able to enlarge the photo on the FB page and could read most of it. (Note: I don’t have a FB account but have discovered I can scroll Georgia’s page if I link to it from the About tab and ignore the FB ‘create an account’ banner. You do have to wait a few seconds to begin with tho for it to let you scroll.)
Will everyone please give their furry best friends an extra warm hug today in memory of my beautiful brown Meggie (Nutmeg). Also, thank your vet and staff for all the great work they do in taking care of our friends and us especially when the time comes to say goodbye.Meg was 18 years old and her health failed extremely fast over the last 2 days. Thank you.
Just a quick question for coffee and tea drinkers: what’s your favorite brew method? Me: I grind the beans I need this morning, do a pour over, and drink it black. Hubby likes coffee just fine but his preferred drink is Earl Grey (tea bag), with sugar and a dollop of milk.
From the BCN Facebook page (luckily it is public and you don’t need an account).
Thank you so, so much for all of your kind words and love and thoughts for Puck today! Our vet did not feel any masses or see/feel any blockages in his exam. He also believes that Puck has a real stubborn hairball happening (TMI maybe, but most of us are cat people, lol). He did some tried-and-true methods to try and assist Puck, and our little guy already seems much better compared to this morning. We have plans to touch base again at the end of the week if he is still showing symptoms, sooner if anything gets worse. Right now he seems more comfortable than last night and that’s a good start. Poor little guy! He is very loved and we felt the love today for sure; thank you!!! ❤️
If Elvis ordered coffee last month instead of this month, who was supposed to order coffee last month – and did they? If so, there would be a two month supply on hand.
I just received my copies of the two BCN books! I’m thrilled, but disappointed that Lupin Leaps Out ends just before the greatest storyline in BCN history (that year).
Looking forward to volume 3. <^o.o^< My attempt at a cat.
If you love Kona coffee but can’t imagine paying the price ($35+ per pound) you need to do what I do.
Kauai coffee is about 98% as good as Kona. Most people can’t even tell the difference. I subscribe and have it mailed direct from the island for about $15 per pound. Whole bean. Keep it in the freezer and grind only what you need.

Saturday’s strip predicted:
Panel 1: Lupin, face down on the anchor desk: “zzzzzzz…”
Panel 2: Puck, face down on the birdwatching windowsill: “zzzzzz….” (with chances of cute snores)
Panel 3: Elvis, face down in the middle of the kitchen floor: “zzzzzz…”
Panel 4: Beatrix, leaning into frame: “That’s all, folks!”

Let’s paws for a commercial
After 16 solid hours of sleep
Start the day with Koffee and a Nom Nom treat*
After standing all day on all four feet
Relax with Koffee and a Nom Nom treat
That midnight pick-me-up,
A snack’s not quite enough,
Knock down a lamp, it feels so sweet,
With a cup of Koffee and a Nom Nom treat!

One of the guys should be permanently assigned to coffee duty. That way, Lupin wouldn’t have to go through withdrawal.
