Toni wants that house, and I think I know why. They are going to need more space. Notice the ring being shown on Brad’s finger in Panel 3? Little hint, hint.

Sounds like Toni got that promotion.

Toni has been the strongest voice for reason, I hope that doesn’t change.

Unrealistic. In the early 1980s, I was looking for a house to buy in San Diego. I had practiced as a physician for three years, and I still couldn’t afford one that large. I had a very good practice, too. I bought a small one and worked up to a larger one. What if they use their combined incomes to buy that house, and then Toni gets pregnant? Can they afford to keep up the payments on Brad’s salary alone? Will they allow Toni to be a pregnant firefighter? Will they give her a desk job? Inquiring minds want to know.

In the Luanniverse, anything is possible…

I notice Brad’s eyes revert to two tiny dots when Toni’s with him.

She’s saying turn around because she’s having second thoughts over her comment yesterday. Possibly, she has some extra funds squirreled away for a time like this, that she hasn’t told Brad. My wife did something like that once.

Open House. Why not? I like open houses. Free peeks inside to see what the house looks like, whether I like the cabinets in the kitchen, the paint color choices, good furniture choices and arrangement, visualize how I would do instead…something fun for me to do. Have fun Toni. You just might fall in love with it and pull your feminine wiles on Brad. Good luck (not that I think Brad is a strong macho leader in the relationship so she probably does not need luck).

You need to make sure there’s a room for Shannon, and one for TJ….

They really should get custody of the kid, the way things are now Toni’s worthless brother can take the kid whenever he feels like it.

They already turned around. Is she wanting to stop and look? Is she wanting to turn again and continue their drive? Is she got a hidden suggestion? Did the artist forget?

Here’s my guess: Frank and Nancy are standing on the porch. Since Brad and Toni spend their nest egg improving the rental, F&N are going to help them with a down payment on their dream home.

Sounds like Toni has an idea, and, I don’t mean what regularly comes up when they’re off shift.

Maybe Brad and Toni are going to fix up a room in the house that’s for sale, in case someday Shannon stays there. She deserves it.

Something I learned the hard way is, when you find the perfect house, find a way to buy it now. Do NOT go to see others, because when you come back, it will be sold.

May I ask, who takes care of poor little Shannon the 99% of the time she is not with Bwad?

Must have screwed it up pretty bad if you had to have “pros” come in and fix it up. Firefighters should have a better handle of the codes than that. Every Fire Department usually has a fire marshals office that also does similar code inspection. Are they really that clueless?

I know who’s gonna be working “optional overtime”. Say goodbye to your weekends off Brad.

Since when do you need “pros” to bring it up to code? You just build it right the first time.

OK, the foreshadowing is really picking up steam. I’d say that my prediction of Jonah being offed has gained momentum, this week.

I thought that Shannon was widely thought to be Toni’s kid — who is her mother then?

House could have what we call “ dragon tracks” associated with it. A murder committed in it perhaps. Or it was owned by an old couple and it is a fixer upper. If the neighborhood and schools are good it will increase in value. Sweat equity. Did that with my first two houses. Working on it with my third.

I see the “little stormtrooper” as the cuckoo chick in the nest; woe to any helpless hatchling that takes the limelight away from Shannon!!!

Toni could have money stashed from her parent’s insurance settlement when they were killed in the car accident.

Is this where Toni reveals that her great-uncle just passed away and left her with half a million? Since people believe they live in Dan Diego, or at least somewhere close by, they’ll NEED IT if they’re entertaining the notion of buying that house!

Hmm. Toni’s sly expression is interesting….. is it a red herring, or is there like many suppose, something uniquely storybookesque coming up?

The odds as I see them:

1. Toni is pregnant: A fan-favorite it seems. I would say the odds are 50-50 on that score. BUT how does her pregnancy help them buy that big house?!? It does not.

2. Toni got a big raise/promotion/salary increase: Again, the odds seem rather 50-50 on that score. Perhaps she did. But, even a big promotion/raise…. with an “itty-bitty” nest egg of savings currently….. does not seem like a prudent, financially sound plan to me. Their loan will be that much larger due to little-to-no down payment.

3. Toni received some “free money” (inheritance, lotto, whatever). A lot of folks suggest this. But, the odds of that seem to me to be quite low (1:10) because it would make the story TOO far-fetched.

The real way I can see this happening….. and I know I will get trounced upon by many here…. is for Toni and Brad to get the home….. and have a sort of “commune” sort of arrangement…. rent out rooms…. with TJ, Prudence, and whomever else of the gang wants to move out of the dorms (or in the case of Luann, the DeGroots), or whatever prior apartment setting Tara, Jack and Nil are in….. and have the house become party central.

I know the above will not happen either…. but…. it would make it more affordable. :)

Toni and Brad write up an offer on the house. They are outbid by Bets & Gunther, who have quickly made a lot of money by hooking up with Soufflé Lingerie and expanding U.S. distribution.

maybe she sees that the house looks a bit like a fixer-upper; the roof and siding don’t look that spiffy. If the inside is similarly in disrepair, they could make a low offer and maybe get away with it.

Does anyone else see that the house and garage seem to have a face?

Since when Is The Little Tazmanian Devil their responsibility? Yes, I know she gets dumped on them all the time, but seriously…they need to learn to stand up to Jonah and make him be the parent.
