Puddles is the most likeable character in this strip (though Bwad has come close).

Lesson here……Their lives are short, their senior years come fast. Don’t put off that trip to the park. Let them enjoy at least a tiny piece of the world other than their backyards while they have a chance.

I’m wondering how hold Puddles is. Was there an episode where Puddles arrived as a puppy? If so, he might be middle aged — about 6 years. If he was the family dog before Luann was in Junior High School, he could be older.

Did someone say yesterday that it was time for Puddles to die, because he’s so old?

I think it’s time we face the obvious truth: for all intents and purposes, Knute and Crystal are no longer in the strip. Even as Sunday comic relief.

He needs to try THAT next time. Get up out of that bed and give him a hug and take him outside for a bathroom break. Then fill up his bowl and give him lots of petting. He loves you unconditionally and that doesn’t happen very often in life. You are lucky to have such a sweet dog.

My cat likes to wake me up, sometimes with nibbles and sometimes with a scratchy lick. It’s okay with me.
