I guess Frank didn’t want under $50 shoes after all.

It seems we have yet another misscommunication here.

Frank, bite the bullet and buy them. Don’t deprive yourself because of a few extra dollars.

Maybe whatever new strips had been intended for this week got sidelined. ✨

I am so ready for Sunday (not Puddles) and a new arc Monday!

i bought a pair recently and they were $80 bucks but than i got a another pair of shoes cause i rarely get around to get a pair for i think $35 bucks. i got some shocks which are great for my feet and a pair of shoes to help me not slide on the ice come winter time.

our driveway can get so Icey it’s not even funny. but than Shocks cost a little more than normal shoes and on my right foot i don’t know how to spell it but i have to wear a brace for it and i forget what it’s called in my shoe so that’s why i’m picky on what shoes i get and why i tend to at times spend a bit more than i want to. as for the strip really $74 down from 92 isn’t that much of a bargain really.

now if it was on sale like $20 bucks or like $50 bucks or a bit higher than that would be a bargain.

I got a pair of Reeboks years ago that had four tubes of something under the heel to put a spring in your step.

After a few months, they only put a squeak in my step.

Go Frank open that wallet.

Okay, they can’t all be great, but this arc was better than Luann’s camping trip. What I liked best is the fact that Greg no longer draws men’s heads like elongated gourds.

back in Frank’s day, sneakers were necessary for exercising. Today they are necessary to impress your friends.

“Hey, sonny, I’m going to take these around the block and see how they work out”

My Candidate for Worst Customer Service: “If you can’t find it – we probably don’t have it.” This amazing response contains ZERO information.

So, has this guy been living under a rock? It’s not like shoes are the only thing that’s 15x the price it was when we were kids.

Years of reading this strip, talking a vacay from it. Cannot bear to see this arc again.

Next weeks comic Frank starts his couch to 5k program that runs the next 9 weeks.

If he’s complaining about 74$ for sneakers, then he hasn’t bought a pair in a long time.

This running gag has run its course. Walk away from this subplot.

This is the worst story arc I have ever seen in this strip, boring.

I can remember we bought my grandson his first pair of Michel Jordan sneakers. He went outside and jumped, then he jumped again. He had a very sad face. How does a young guy face the fact that the TV guy lied to him

College football starts in just 9 days or so. War Eagle!

As I recall in the original arc there was like a week of Frank preparing to get in shape, then a week to buy shoes, and then a week at attempting to run. I’ll let those who track this closer correct me. Also, hopefully this is only a one week vacation…

Hilarity ensues! That is the whole point, foibles of life BJ. Anyway will break continue on Monday or are we about to plunge into a new arc? Ah, there is the question.

In today’s money they’d be around $120 probably.

Seventy four dollars is nothing these days. Top of the line running shoes are double that. He must be buying the discontinued model.

Has anyone else noticed how Frank’s hair has changed color in the last few trips? It’s going from mostly white in his grumpy frames to darker in the more positive frames.

I know Greg’s trying to portray the sales dude unfavorably, but he’s far more helpful than most shoe store clerks now, which have mostly gone self-serve.

That is pretty cheap for running shoes

Welcome to the Jet age where you have actually $200 gym shoes which wear out quicker than you can sneeze.

It’s only unbelievable because the net margin is huge, and it all goes into the pockets of management and stockholders.

I always buy my sneakers on clearance. NEVER pay full price for shoes.

With some of the people “working” out there, now, it’s probably more like…“if you can’t find it, we probably can’t, either.”
