That;s an interesting method. I generally leave my clothes on the hangars because they are easier to see. I have never heard of picking clothes out of a giant pile of clothes before.

At least Luann isn’t planning on dressing as a TA in her gray tank top and orange floral shorts.

Maybe Luann will meet a new boyfriend in this class.

I thought I remembered Luann not wanting to be a teaching assistant? Maybe this is when she discovers that teaching is her true vocation?

My memory says Luann didn’t want a TA in chemistry. I do believe her talent is more in the direction of the arts. We’ll get some fourth wall stuff via Zebo – he occasionally flirts with reality.

Ummm, Luann? You didn’t want to be TA for the Science class last year, right? Was it because Tara ridiculed at the idea? Did you secretly want to be a TA all long? It will look good on a resume but do you know what a TA really does? Be an all-around girl, doing errands for Zebo and grade his papers. You won’t be filling in for Zebo or anything.

On a positive note, Luann finally took a T.A’s position. Kudos! I guess Tara and Jack weren’t around this time to talk her OUT of it.

Speaking of Jack, will Luann meet some new Stud Muffin in art class, this semester, as she’s lecturing him on ”precision stapling?”

Or will Luann once again be taking classes with “Action(Less) Jack(Son)?” ;)

You just know she “won’t have a thing to wear!”

Being a TA involves such hard decisions!

Considering it’s Zebo’s art class, I’d say Luann’s complete lack of seriousness about her agenda is just what the doctor ordered.

After all these years at college, she’s still doing “Intro To Art” classes?!? No wonder she’s TA material; she’s taken the class so many times she must have it memorized by now!

Hey, it is Zebo’s class. Just go as you are.

Poor Luann. Having adult responsibilities and looking like an adult are two different things.

Good luck dealing with Zebo and his flaky personality.

Congrats Luann! I’m so happy for you! Zebò knows that Luann is talented, he wants her as an assistant and she is enthusiastic about it (contrary to what the chemistry professor had been asking her for the same thing). This is another proof that Luann has to take an artistic career, leaving behind the idea of ​​being a teacher for children in some schools / kindergartners or other things. I hope she’ll choose a good dress, the first impression is very important.

So! Greg has deliberately taken Gunther out of the potential Luann matchup scene with the Bets episode (now an arc). A position he’s held since nearly the comic’s inception. He’s gradually moved Jack aside after dabbling with dating. Jack has been relegated to a wingman, big brother (ugh) role.

The art class arc is an exciting arc in the strip. It is where Luann has many times encountered something new – Gunther’s dress, Jack the Jock, Nil the beatnik, Life art, acclaim from Zebo…

As many suspect, we might see a new dreamboat in the strip.

Does the TA job for art require being a model for the art class?

I still like the idea of a Jack/Luann match up. Sure, he looks like a big lug; but he’s a truly nice guy. Had there been someone like him around when I was that age………just sayin’ !!!!

The time-wasting class she took for four years? The one with the ridiculous prof who sleeps in an ascot? This strip just keeps getting better and better. And by better, I mean the opposite. Where are her history classes? Her economics classes? Where are the classes that will actually teach her something that will earn her a living wage when she finally graduates at the age of 38? Evans and Co? Care to step up and add literally ANYTHING that resembles the modern college experience?

Why is it everyone (or MOST everyone) here takes pleasure in putting Luann down, claiming “she’s boy-crazy——she’s always looking for a new boyfriend——-still under the delusion her prince will come”———-but when there’s a new story arc featuring Luann, everyone is all " Hey great! Maybe she’ll find a new boyfriend!"

Make up your minds, people. Myself, I don’t think she needs a steady boyfriend. If it were shown that she was casually dating different people, I think that would be fine. And yes, one of those people could be Jack.

Wow. I am really looking forward to this week. I tend to really relish the ones that occur in the classroom.

Several other thoughts:

1. I find it funny (comically) that Luann is so focused on her clothing choice. It is an interesting, fun way to a) show that Luann CARES about this position, and also b) that even though she cares…. she might not be caring about the more important things to care about at the moment for her success.

2. I really LIKE that Luann has felt so excited about this situation that she did tell Bernice…. and I am happy/glad that Bernice is showing interest and happiness for Luann… even though Bernice is at a different school, and likely has only a bit little understanding about the situation. For me, this again shows (contrary to what many say) that Bernice IS INDEED a very good, lifelong friend for Luann.

3. I find the panels where Professor Zebo are featured to be very fun….. Greg does a very good job of blending into Zebo’s character…… a mix of sincerity but also “grandiosity”, a caring attitude as well as a selfish attitude, insight and “obtusity”…. and he does this in a character who on the surface seems a buffoon….. but as you dig deeper….. does have valuable things to say about art and teaching. He is a far more complex character in my opinion than some notice.

Some were suggesting Luann’s clothing that she is currently wearing look like orange boxer shorts. There is a little bit of that vibe, but I think it is meant to be a relatively short, albeit professional skirt. The yellow polka dot top….. uh, in my mind anyway…. not a great pairing with that skirt. But, I am NOT an artsy type…. so what the hell do I know? :)

Did Frank buy the shoes or not? Don’t leave us hanging like this Greg!

Luann is quite a bit more excited about being an art TA than a chemistry TA; does this mean she will choose an art major? Luann can’t seem to make up her mind about these things. Maybe Zebo will advise and push her in this direction.

I’d rather see some T & A rather than just another TA.

And when the nude models are there and she has to look can she take it?

Organization is not #1 here, but yet she’ll know where exactly everything is.

That blouse (w/ dots) looks like the one she wore on her date (1st and last) with Doug. Hopefully Bernice will show Luann how to dress appropriately for the job.

She’s a junior now and still hasn’t declared a major or taken another class other than art, from what I can recall.

In the past, Professor Zébo has corrected somebody who pronounced his name as Professor Zebo, like Luann just did ( https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2015/12/17 ) Professor Zébo is likely going to expect Luann to pronounce his name correctly, especially since he has heard her do so before ( https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2017/02/05 )

This has been such a busy day, starting classes I forgot to comment. I don’t care about her undies, but I do think that being on point about what a TA means is the point, and Bernice is the communicator. Luann will get to the point by the end of the week. It is something that she is a TA in a (drawing/painting) based course.

Ick! Luann’s taste in fashion is the pits! Or the Pitts!

And since when does Intro to Art get a TA? Most of all for pompous Prof. Zebo, the scourge of our sanity?!

Wow. I missed it. Luann was wearing a short top, today. Its been awhile. She used to wear them all the time in High School. When is the last time We’ve seen Lu’s belly button? ;)
