Oh dear. Ever vigilant is going to need a new definition in the dictionary, I think.
On a better note, Nat splat onto the pie top is precious! And I love how Agnes is broadcasting from right behind Elvis and he hasn’t noticed. We need more Mouse News and their “cheesy” logo.
Did the mice steal Lupin’s ears, too? Or is his speech bubble some sort of Eldritch Abomination that can be behind his head and in front of his ears at the same time?
I looks like Elvis won’t be getting much rest then. Am I the only one who can hear the Mission Impossible theme song as Natasha glides down towards the pie?
Wait.. The Woman is baking pies on SUNDAY that are not intended to be eaten until THURSDAY?? How does that work? We don’t have mice in our house, but she’d still have to bake another whole set on Wednesday. Because all the Sunday pies would be gone by Tuesday. And there are only two of us.
Poor Mr Grouchy Fussy Paws! Looks like his vigilance was all for naught as the adorable robber mice are absconding with the pie. Must say I just love Agnes being added to the news crew, mouse division.
And as matter of very slight interest, I will point out that the word “pie” makes British and Australians think of meat pie, but Americans think of fruit pie.
And now let us get on to the question of the differences between a pie and a tart. (And ignore cobblers because we’ll have enough trouble with the first two.)
The last panel is one of the best ever! Agnes! Natasha! Pie! I stopped at the deli yesterday, and they had fresh-baked pumpkin pies, still a bit warm, so I had to get one. Plus, the lady from the farm delivered my turkey breast yesterday. So I decided today will be Thanksgiving at my home. It’s just me, so I can have it whenever I darn please.
OT. Message from Georgia on BCN Site about tomorrow’s sale: "Some of the daily strips that will be for sale during Monday’s originals sale! The sale will begin on Monday November 25th at noon Pacific time. It will be in my Etsy shop, and I will share the link on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram starting tomorrow (though the shop will remain closed until Monday at noon!) These daily strips and 15 other dailies will be for sale for $350 each. They are ink and watercolor on heavy cardstock, and are all real deal original comic strips that have appeared in newspapers across the country. The text is in pencil, and some of it may have changed by the time strips ran in print! There are splotches, splatters, drips, and little notes to myself on some of them. They’re as natural as you can get, lol! This is the first time I’ve ever sold any of the daily strips (I don’t believe any have even been given away at this point), and I do not plan on offering any more for a few more years. This is a weird, special year! "
Mmm, pies. Always makes me think of Santa Barbara, where, on election day, there were signs at all the polling places “100 pies”! I know it just means “one hundred feet” (no electioneering within) but pies are pies.
Hello!! Happy Sunday, everyone! Tomorrow Monday November 25th at noon Pacific time I will be having an originals sale in my Etsy shop! Some of the daily strips and Sunday strips will be for sale, and I will also have a new limited edition print and a few other signed prints for sale as well! The shop is here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GeorgiaDunnStudio , (that’s the right link, but the shop will be closed until noon tomorrow!!) Hope to ‘see’ you there!
I love the robber mice because they remind me of the little mice in my mother’s house when I moved in there after she died. They mostly went after the birdseed she had stored for her budgies, and the nuts she had for the wild birds. I never baked a pie there but once, and it was pumpkin and gone in five minutes, so I don’t know if they’d have pulled such a heist. I wouldn’t put it past them, though.
Today I was allowed to give Trixie scritchies in the living room.
And Shadow is diagnosed with Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome. Which is actually a GOOD thing. We thought she had a neuro based seizure disorder. 2 weeks now on gabapentin and a reducing dosage of steroids and the seizures have stopped. Skin ripple is down to near zero. Yay!
