“Tee-shirts.”You know what? I’m beginning to think that this whole story arc is not about “shipping” Jack and Luann, as many are feverishly hoping. But its just a big build up to today’s Luann Tee-Shirt Reveal.
Relax. Just a little holiday teasing. And to rush the next big calendar event, you all know Valentine’s Day is not that far off. Who will be with “Whom” come February 14th?
Oh. Two more things:
1) Bets might like that Catwoman Tee Shan is holding in panel one.
2) I like today’s Sales Clerk a Whole Lot BETTER! ;)
Wow, so now Evans is using the storytelling space itself to try and sell stuff. Transformers and G.I. Joe did it earlier and better. But still I’m curious as to how many people here are really going to buy that t-shirt.
Wow – that devilish image on the shirt Luann is holding in the third panel – the face is virtually identical to the one Greg used for the controversial Asian character, “Sun”. The one in Moony Uni with the ferret.
I am amazed at all the adults I knew as children who deny they had done anything wrong in childhood. They were all saints and abhor childish behavior in kids. I will make exceptions for planes and restaurants as in that can be annoying when parents let their kids be a “Shannon”.
Looks like Jack and Luann are having a great quality time together. They looks so lovely and happy♡. And Shannon is Adorable, in her special and peculiar way. The Uni-corn t-shirt is unexpected.
The problem with the Unicorn T-shirt is 1) It has nothing to do with Luann, so it’s hard to see how it’s a “fan must have.” 2) The two in the middle panel are cleverer. 3) It’s a pretty obvious pun. “Cornu” is just Latin for “horn” (think “cornet”).
I had someone ask me that while I was watching my nephew. I looked at her and said, I am the care taker of this demon spawn! she just turned and walked away.
A fun set of shirts, interesting given they keep pulling shirts for Shannon but not a 14 year old. The more intersting part is a store named Boss Lady seems to cater to teens more than career women which the name implies; interesting…
The running gag continues: People mistake Jack and Luann for Shannon’s parents.
As a rule, I like Shannon arcs and, while yesterday was a bit, well, “out there,” there’s still an unsettled dilemma here as to where G&K are taking Jack and Luann.
(Oh, no, that earworm just popped into my head – that little ditty about Jack and Dianne!)
Since comic strips exist in a time – space vacuum, the physical realities of whether Jack and Luann could be Shannon’s parents (particularly their age) might well be thrown out the window. And why not?
On the other hand, tying Luann down with a guy is a lot like Mordy says (or is it 1212?) – why do that unless G&K are about to retire the strip?
Is the unicorn shirt wrong for a 14 year old because she’s too young or because she’s too old? There’s a grown man with hairy arms wearing it in the link. That doesn’t solve the mystery for me, Luann, please explain.
The babysitters are acting like kids themselves and not paying attention to Luann’s charge. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got lost in the fun and walked out without Shannon.
The store and the clerks and the shirt, and the whole scene in this arc is just staging for the real story, the obvious potential connection between Jack and Luann, and when Luann finally figures it out. I think Jack has already figured it out, but wants her to show home some kind of sign she has. He is smarter than many here seem to understand, although I think at some point he will show his hand. He really, really, REALLY likes Luann. Why call her out of all the girls he could call to do this errand with him after all?
Seriously! Why does Luann think this is the wrong shirt for a 14 year old girl? Amazon sells it in both adult sizes and youth sizes! It’s usually young girls who love unicorns, but there’s this 30 year old Youtuber who likes them, too! She made a whole video where she made a unicorn house in the Sims 4. Is it something to do with the corn? That’s neither too adult nor too young. Corn on the cob is a suitable food for every age. I see nothing either too adult nor too childish in this frickin shirt, I just think it’s a profoundly disappointing logo. And I don’t think the price is unreasonable, unless you prefer to buy used clothing. Luann what do you mean??

might as well find another store, Luann and Jack, in which Shannon won’t play around… like — oh, I don’t know — the toy store

Unsurprisingly, I don’t like the unicorn shirt. It’s like a bad visual pun. Still better than Gunther’s little outfits, though.
