First, a tip of the Hatlo Hat to all those who predicted We’d be moving to a new arc this week.

And it’s just as well. A continuation of the last arc featuring the Fuse Staff telling Nancy all about the Infamous Ann would at best be a “two drink” story anyway.

As for this week? My, how Shannon has grown!

Why isn’t he “Uncle Bwad”?

Why is she back to “Bwad” again to begin with?

“Coming to stay…” – Is this the end of wuzzizname, the dad?

Is an adoption in the near future?

Or did it already take place off camera?

Panel #1 permanent? Or another visit with the Degroots?

When we lived on Westover AFB (Near Springfield, Massachusetts) back in the late 1960’s, my sister and I had two hamsters, and one time they got out. We tried to find them, but searching the house did not turn them up. We heard scratching in the wall between bedrooms, and they had gone along the floor and followed the pipe to the baseboard heaters that went in a small passage from room to room, and they were in there. I remember my old man turning on the heat while my sister was on one side of the wall and I was on the other. As it heated up, they came out and were nabbed and put into the cage. Unlike Shannon’s hamster cage, ours had the wheel in it. Squeak, squeak, squeak all night long…

Back to “Bwad”, huh? So much for Shannon getting more grown-up. And she’s now “coming to stay with” them as opposed to just visiting? Looks like Jonah has thrown in the towel on the whole parenting thing.

The Shannon fans are partying today!

Bwad has my respect for putting up with this kid.

Oh, my, hamsters are such cute little critters but not really the best pets. They are nocturnal , can be grouchy and annoying. I hope Greg will portray this one more positively! Should be an interesting week, a relief from mire serous drama!

What a surprise. Toni’s worthless brother has dumped Shannon on her and Brad again.

On the other hand, it improves the possibility of Shannon getting to bite Ann for a second time.

“Bwad” and Toni’s tolerance is remarkable.

Hopefully this pet will teach Shannon the meaning of the word responsibility. Helping her to grow up a little more.

A little of Shannon goes a long way.

Our Hamsters were escape artists. It took 3 of us with towels to catch them and put them back in their cage. Whenever Auntie came over she would keep her feet up on a chair because they were probably loose again.

I wouldn’t trust her with any pet.

HA. Still “Bwad.” A term of endearment. And a hamster to eat! Not to eat? For a pet? To each his own.

Just so Ann-biter is back.

Manuel at Fawlty Towers, had what he thought was a hamster which turned out to be a Rat called Basil..

Well, this looks pretty low drama.

Good! I like ham.

And so we begin a new arc with the delightful and heartwarming Shannon. (pause) I was ready for a media blackout, anyway…

…and this is where I do my usual joke:

1: “I have a hampster!”

2: “There’s no P in hamster.”

1: “Maybe you’re just not squeezing them hard enough.”

and daddy flakes out again

Brad is gonna be up all night.

They should let the hamster loose right now…….Outside!

And not a single one of the things one would care for a hamster WITH, like the bedding and food and water hookup…what’d they do, just pick it up at the Petco on the way over??

At least Shannon doesn’t have a pet parrot…

Gerbils are better.

Its good for kids to have pets. Not sure about rats though. We never had those. I like Toni – she is such a consistent character – kind and caring.

I wonder if Brad is home or knows yet. Boy, has he got a surprise.

Toni’s hair is way too long for a firefighter’s. How can she pin up that huge mane, underneath her helmet?

Lovely Shannon and Toni♡. Is interesting that Shannon now has a pet. Jonah is probably trying to teach her about have responsibilities. After all,only recently he has realized how important they are. Probably he don’t want his daughter to make the same mistake.

Nothing’s changed. Brad is still a boob. Luann still doesn’t have any. Tiffany didn’t become the successor to Little Annie Fanny, but she watched while Ann Eiffel did. Last hope for romance and excitement: Gunther and Bets.

What’s the backstory here? Did he get a role in a play somewhere, and having his daughter would not be convenient? This is not a covid time strip, so the issue of remote learning is not involved, but still isn’t she of school age if she is going to “stay” with them. Might be some hilarity ensues with the hamster (my daughter had one, no comment) but this arc, during the week portends more than just the usual Shannon story.

I am glad that Nancy’s story wrapped up for now.

Looks like Toni and Bwad will be taking in Shannon on a more permanent basis.

Everybody is growing up.

Funny, I was expecting her to say she got a phone.

Wanted to see more of the last arc with Tiffany talking to Nancy about Ann

It will be lost in the house in no time. Brad will soon be busting up the walls with a sledgehammer trying to find it.

Toni isn’t pregnant yet??

So it finally happened.

Ok, let’s get back to a more interesting story line.

Hamsters can be hilarious. We have video of our hamster shoving five baby carrots in his cheek pouches to store for later. We never laughed so hard at the way he looked, With huge bulges in his cheeks

There are far worse pets to be surprised with! In terms of care and time.

Note to Greg E – please just write out Shannon’s dad out of the strip – he obviously does not care for his daughter, and serves no narrative purpose.

Also, can we get her a new hair-do? She looks like she borrowed Darth Vader’s helmet for a hairpiece.

I hear that male prisoners raise and care for pit bulls in jail. Now, that’s an idea for female prisoners……….run a day care for brats like Shannon.

Please tell me that while this is going on, Tiffany and the others at The Fuse are telling Nancy everything they’ve got on Ann Eiffel…

PLEASE???

The Shannon fans should enjoy this week.

Oh, no. Not HER again. I’d rather put up with Ann Awful than this kid.

I sure hope that hamster doesn’t have to live out his/her life in this tiny little cage with no exercise wheel and hardly any room to move about.

Who wants to wager the hamster will be a big part of this arc? I have the feeling the hamster will escape and the gang will spend this arc trying to find it.

I wonder whether TJ will come home and tell his housemates about Nancy showing Ann the exit at The Fuse.

Not the kid again. It irks me to no end to see how Toni and “Bwad”, whobore me as it is, put up with her “cute” antics. Toni and “Bwad” haven’t beenalone, thanks to TJ and Shannon, more than about one night, since they gotmarried. I guess they love company more than being alone together. Sorry torant, but I just find no humor or pleasure in the arcs with "Bwad, Toni, and Shannon. Thanks for putting up with me. If you do.
