I’m sorry, Homer is just not my favorite character.

Rather epic fail by the author, acting as if the woman can’t automatically take the chief’s place in a kinship society. A whole week, and still no explanation.

Homer has discovered the meaning of Ook, Ook, Ook. He cannot be allowed to live.

Wait a sec. Sign language is a language; especially if it’s advanced enough that you can ask someone to chose a random number.

The thought the chief is thinking but lacks the resources to express is “will this be on the test?”

“Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was Oh no, not again. Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now.”

So that’s how the republican party started.

That’s happened to a number of people who dared face up to the leader but to no avail. Incredibly, there’s still a line of those who think they can express the truth and still retain their position in the tribe. But Buttercup prevails. All Hail Buttercup!!

I spent my career in IT. Daily occurrence.

It’s an allegory. The “chief” represents a Republican governor of an early-opened sunbelt state, and “old woman” represents epidemiologists trying to bring science into the decision making process.
