I know that “Criminal Minds” is coming to an end, but I didn’t think Bern would take it so hard. Seriously, the only thing that would make her this upset is if she were no longer an RA, but what would prompt that?

Uh oh! Trouble on the horizon!Can’t wait to find out what this is all about.

omg…I so relate to this. Many years ago I had a friend who just had a baby. The baby was born with a heart condition, but a different friend told me that they thought the baby would be all right. The next day I went around to see my friend and said, “I heard the news. I’m so happy for you!” She looked at me like I was crazy. Her baby had died during the night.

something else is “over” for Bernice. I’ve never seen her cry like that. I don’t even want to speculate.

Uh-0h. I know Bernice’s outburst has nothing to do with Ann Eiffel. Wonder what ended for her?? Her job as RA? Piro? Mysterious guy who she dated while we were captivated by the Ann Eiffer vs Tiffany arc for several weeks? She is good at her job as RA so I doubt this one is it…Piro? He disappeared. Did he resurface to return the scarf Bernice lent him and then disappeared again? I am leaning on the mysterious new guy…Uh-Oh. Is it Dez? Did she get fed up with Bernice’s anal ways that she moved out?

Whoa! Didn’t see THIS one coming! I would have thought that the next character in the story spotlight would have been ANYBODY but Bernice, one of, if not the MOST unsympathetic character, in the entire Strip.

So what’s “over” for Bernice?

1) Her parents wised up and kicked her out of the house?

2) Her college funding has dried up?

3) No more R.A. Bernice? (Wild cheering from the Hall A Gang)

4) Bernice’s subscription to “Better Jabs and Snarking” got cancelled?

Whatever it turns out to be, will the unthinkable happen? Fans suddenly feeling sorry for Bernice?

Luann should take note as she helps her friend thru whatever this turns out to be.

And remember all the snarks Bernice directed at her, when Luann was hurting.

Is Nancy serving alcoholic drinks to minors? Tiffany and Les are twenty yrs old. In my state, need to be 21 to drink unless it is a fruit drink.

This be the type of party Ann would crash.

Bernice didn’t have a boyfriend that we were aware of, and you wouldn’t think she’d be that emotional over losing her RA job…so what is she so upset about?

I don’t think the writers would actually go here, but to pose a wild possibility: What if Bernice had a fling with Piro or some other guy and now she’s expecting and the guy broke it off after Bernice told him the news?

Gunther and Bets broke up?

Luann dropped a brick!

I must admit that this is a very creative way to transition between story arcs, though.

Piro ran out on her, and her carefree life is over. She’s having twins. With little stars on their heads…

Okay well at the very least maybe we will do some catching up on whatever Luann and Bernice have been up to while we’ve been observing the growth and education of Tiffany. Also known as “Ann’s latest Demise”. I would speculate on what could possibly be over for Bernice, but that’s been pretty well covered already in the other comments.

It’s about time to recycle Tara into the mix. Maybe she got back into the dorm and Bernie is upset….

Maybe Bernice finally decided to stop spending every Sunday snarking in Luann’s pig sty room.

Still loving that Les is fitting in as a regular dude in the mix. And, really, Tiff as well! And now, Bernice, S’up? I’m thinking an RA issue, tho they haven’t dealt with Covid in the strip.

Ann Eiffel’s end = Ann is somewhere else for now. Apparently “not getting married to a rich idiot” is her kryptonite. Let’s celebrate with some squid ink.

Bernice’s interests are quite limited: school and boys. Boys are almost nonexistent in her current state, so it must be a school problem. Now, here is where the rug is pulled out from under me and my reasoning will be wrong. I just wish it was something normal like Bernice went in for a make over, came out, and realized that nothing had changed.

So what drama has Bernice got herself Entangled in? : )

With Bernice, she could see that her whole future career is over because she got a bad grade in one class or she didn’t get accepted into a psych Master’s program from one university.

This is a very long shot and probably WRONG, but…

Is it possible that Bernice is losing her job because the dorm is closing? Could G&K have decided to introduce the pandemic into the strip after all?

Something very serious has happened to Bernice, she is really in serious pain. Luann will come to the rescue or at least be a friend. Still bored? Sudden misdirection, eh? I don’t know what it could be, perhaps she got fired from her RA job, but I think it’s something more serious. The RA gig is serious though because that is how she is paying for her education at Mooney. She might end up in the spare room to save expenses. Never saw her so upset before.

If they were all so invested in unmasking The Beast, why didn’t they just arrange an intervention with Tiff’s dad and all tell their stories?

Oh Jeeze!!! What underhanded crap did Ann do to Bernice?

At one point, I thought is was brother Ben having something happened in the Army, but I think he was injured and discharged, but maybe an accident. But she might have responded “Its Ben” instead of “Its over”. Another thought was going with the crowd and losing the RA position, but that is too obvious. I doubt its Piro because that never got off the ground, the only thing that was never followed up was her relationship with Zane when he went back to his hometown to clear up issues he had. So my latest guess is she just got word that Zane married someone else and she just found out, so “Its over”.

Is Muni U closing? Has Bernice’s sometime boyfriend left here? Has it been realized what a bad RA she is? Find out here. Same comic strip. Same characters. Same artist and writer(?)

Well, she doesn’t have a boyfriend, so it can’t be a relationship breakup. Lost her RA job? Seems this reaction is over the top for that. I have NO idea what’s coming.

Recalling that Luann and Bernice were seen together as recently as Sunday and nothing seemed wrong then. Although Puddles was lying motionless….

Bernice had cancer some years ago. Could it be back?

I don’t know about you, but I don’t answer the phone when I’m sobbing.

What if we are all pressing the panic button, and all that is wrong is that her favorite TV show was cancelled, and it happened to happen at a bad time of the month?

Is it about Zane? (This was so long ago, I am not sure about his name….

…And then in the very last pane of Saturday’s script…Ann shows up with her new handsome rich looking crush and says….“So, what are we celebrating? Then they both turn around and leave….”.

Bernice must have flunked out of school or got fired as the RA because she haven’t dated anyone in a long time!

OH NO! What happened to Bernice? I’m happy to have her back in a main arc, but to make someone coold (but fragil) like her cry so much, something terrible must have happened. It is about Piro? Has her role as R.A. been taken away because of the secret parties? Her grades has drop and she is losing the scholarship??? Anything about Dez? Luann…. RUN TO HELP YOUR BEST FRIEND WHATEVER HER PROBLEM IS!!!

The real world finally caught up with Greg Evans creation date. Covid is forcing the kids into online courses. She is no longer an RA.

Just as we thought the drama was ending, another one is beginning.

It would be good that Bernice lost her job as an RA. The writers were making the character into a “Karen”, the most privileged and catered to demographic in America.

Is this a comic strip or a soap opera?

It’s something serious. Her parents, brother or ex boyfriend

While I am happy with Ann Awful’s downfall and banishment, the thing I find sad about this whole arc is Les. Imagine how horrible his life with Ann must have been to make him so gleeful at seeing his own mom shamed and run out of town. At least we know why he is the way he is.

Ha! The school found out about the big party that happened and took away her RA status and dorm room that she cherishes so much! Power come – power go – she’ll have to find another environment to practice her hard line attitudes in (like the DeGroots spare room) Let’s see if Tiffany has a conscience and steps up to confess her part in fooling Bernice.

Wait a minute, what kind of friend is Luann? I’m a guy, and I would have known immediately that something was very wrong after hearing that short sentence. But then, we wouldn’t have this cliff-hanger going into Saturday and the weekend.

Her future career? Being a bossy RA? Did Zane marry someone?

At least we’re starting a new story.

Whatever’s next,I hope it’ll get back to being’Luann”again. I’d never seek out “Tiffany”.

Aaaaaaaaand, on to the next story arc!

The week where all the evil characters get their just desserts! Ann Eiffel’s schemes are over, Bernice’s reign of terror is over also.

It could be she just discovered the end of the run of Stone Soup, or the creative team change on Heart of The City…

Really, though, unless THIS strip is coming to an end, the most reasonable guess is that Covid means the dorms won’t open this fall. It’s not as if Bern has any other story arc so active that she’d be distraught at it being over.Anything else will be a big surprise.

Ann’s body found on campus?

There will be some ‘foundation/program/event’ personal to Bernice now cancelled because it had been funded by Tiff’s dad in the past through Ann’s ‘advice’ , and he’s burning all those bridges now. Will the gang ‘put on a show’ to save Bernie’s program?

I’m surprised no one else is interpreting this as opening a gay story line where Bernice comes out, heartbroken that Dez has left her. It’s the first thought to enter my mind.

1. Nancy and gang are being way too confident about Ann being gone. Ann just moved out of Tom’s life but she’s still in town and able to cause all kinds of trouble.

2. I have no idea what Bernice could be so upset about. It seems to be relationship related but I don’t remember her actively dating anybody. Was Piro even still around? We haven’t seen him for ages. The only other thing I can think of is she has to leave school for some reason.

Well, here comes Bern with the bucket of cold water I expected to be thrown on this party!

YAY! A possible arc featuring Luann and Bernice. Looks like the drama (hilarity 1212?) will shift from Tiffany to Bernice. OR, knowing Bernice, it could be just a false alarm. But then, even a shift toward these old BFF’s will be refreshing.

BTW. Bernice is the most underappreciated character in the strip. Since inception Lu and Bern have been BFF’s! They will be so until the bitter end!

Don’t set yourself up for the big fall Nancy. Underage drinking? At your place of employment?? Call the Alcohol Beverage Control Board and they’ll have to yank the Fuse’ liquor license. Something Ann (or any stickler for the law) would do in a heartbeat. Unless that’s grape juice, everyone in that panel is presumably over 21; but really are these one year out of high school 21 yet? My math says no. If they are 21, and by definition adults, too bad the strip doesn’t seem to deal with adult issues; just same old high school drama, different day, different location.

Sure, Ann wasn’t the nicest person, but to toast “her end” like it’s some personal victory is hardly an adult thing to do.

Maybe Bernice has finally come to the realization – or has been forced into it – that she’s just not counselor material, and it’s her “dream” of becoming a counselor that’s over. Which could be a good thIng. We never did see why she was so intent on this career track – it has always felt to me like a lack of thought and imagination on her part – as if someone asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, and her eyes lit on the sign on Miss Phelps’ desk, so she said “a counselor.”

OK. Speculation:

1) She lost her straight 4.0 GPA.

2) She lost her full ride scholarship. Now she has to attend Pitt C.C. with Luann.

3) She lost her RA job and has to roomie with Tiff os some other denizen of Hall A.

4) She’s no longer Luann’s BFF!

5) She graduated early, got a job offer from the CIA as a psychological profiler and is leaving Pittsville.

6) Piro wrote her a Dear Jane letter.

7) Nothing really. Just some hysterical overreaction.

Please let the witch be gone for good and all. Enough is enough.

Maybe Bernice will be upset about something we have not heard of before. Perhaps her parent’s marriage is over.

Well, the celebrating continues AND the expected dropped shoe Was one I didn’t expect! Someone once mentioned that we don’t know much about Bernice’s background. Does this have to do with her RA position or a family situation? From the calm into the storm…..again! ;-D

A bit premature to toast the End of An Eiffel. Ann has only had a temporary setback.

We can now see how “Miss Compassion” deals with adversity. I imagine LuAnn will be a much better friend than Bernice would ever be.

Definitely not Piro, she lost interest in him a long time ago. Losing her RA job? Not exactly a reason to cry hysterically. This one is puzzling.

She’s upset that her affair with dez is over.

She was dating Les, and no one knew because no one cared, and he just dumped her after the Tiffany kiss? (I kid.)

I fear Bernice may have lost her R.A. position. And it may have something to do with that blackout party Tiffany covered for.

A storyline with Bernice at the centre of it? It’s been quite awhile since that happened…

Loosen up, Bernice. Margo Phelps found her man, you can too. Just stop looking for a male who obeys orders and walks well on a short leash. Sounds more like a Golden Retriever.

It’s entirely possible that Bernice is upset over something that not only has nothing to do with Ann Awful, but might not even have anything to do with a guy. Like, maybe she was told by a prof whose ideas she likes that she has no future as a counselor even though most of her credits are in that field, and now she has no idea what career to follow instead, and no scholarship money for other classes…

Ann is like a cat she has 9 lives.

I’m wondering if piro left the college. She did find him somewhat attractive as she found him to be tall, dark, and mysterious.
