Now Wait One Flying Moment!!! What in the Furry Universe was ‘Dropped Off’??? It sure as yawning cats wasn’t the other half of moon that has too many lights in it! Come on Saturday – spill!! :)
I have to commend you on some beautiful artwork in this sequence. Love the colors, the detail on the house, and to quote from 2001, A Space Odyssey: “My God, it’s full of stars!”
I’d say it’s wasting a good day with good nights! :-P
What is like to know is what’s going on! What did she leave by the tree? It was for whom? Was it someone who lived inside that hole in the tree? What is this mystree?
Whatever the mystery drop off turns out to be and whoever the unknown recipient is, Baba is one happy Mouse! Wait, the mouse is Agnes….. Baba is Grandmother Baba Mouse Cat. Stay tooned for BCN report on ongoing mystery!
I rather think that Agnes knows everyone is either asleep or getting there – She’ll probably report after breakfast. And wouldn’t mind seeing Agnes’ pretty eyelashes!
Wow! Now I feel like a little kid, the night before Christmas! That object left in the hollow tree, is that big box under the Christmas tree, for me! Now I won’t be able to sleep!
Most of the time I am writing to you, it is around 6:00 a.m. in the center of the United States. For Robin, it would be around 9:00 in the evening (time for that nightcap) and Bear should be shaking and serving his 5:00 p.m. cocktail before dinner in India. Truly, being a cat lover knows no sovereign boarders, it is a human occupation.
I would love to know what Country, State, Territory or City you all are from? Georgia’s art and whimsy have brought us all together and we have genuinely made a world community. So, post where you are and what time you tune into Breaking Cat News – All the news that is fit to purr.
From Georgia’s Facebook Yesterday: “Happy Gotcha Day to this sweet little ball of chaos! Eight years ago we adopted Lupin! The first picture is the Man holding him at Purrfect Pals Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Centers adoption event. We had called in asking if they had any special needs cats available, and they just happened to have “a little deaf guy” on route to an adoption-and-wine-tasting event that afternoon. It was love at first sight, which was particularly fortunate because we fell in love with Lupin before we even knew he was the particular little guy we were there to check out! I’ll be honest, he is not an easy cat—he really is like owning five cats or a small horse. He gets into everything, knocks everything over, and breaks everything else. However, he is a very REWARDING cat, in that he is RIDICULOUSLY friendly and people-oriented and he lives for pets. Every night he sleeps curled around my arm, hugging it with both paws. We love you to pieces, Lupin!!”
This is right out of the olden days, bn (before newspapers). We’d only get strips twice a week, but they would be many panels long. She would do these story arcs over posts that would go on for weeks, leaving us on cliff hangers for days, then she’d occasionally post one that seemed like a natural wrap up, we’d think the arc was over and cheer! except, Oh! the next week we’d be off on a whole ‘nother chapter! She is a master story teller. PDD sits on the edge of their couch waiting confidently with expectant excitement all will be revealed!
From Georgia’s Facebook in response to a comment that Baba Mouse seems a lot like Grandma Olwen in Swan Eaters “Georgia Dunn – Baba Mouse was very much “salvaged” from Olwen Hawker when I believed ‘Swan Eaters’ might not see online syndication or publishing! In my mind they are closely related characters—though slightly different, just through where each of their stories took them.I love, love, LOVE an old crone. Those are my favorite characters to write with. Olwen, Baba Mouse, Old Mag, and even Winifred Quinn’s ghostly spirit carry a lot of power with them.”
Such a sweet tribute to “Goodnight, Moon.” It was not out when I was a child but I’ve loved it as an adult! And Pucky’s yawn and Baba Mouse"s expression in the last panel is so lovely!
Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day. I suspect that for the doggy set, this is now easier than in the past.
But why would any decent homo sap. do that to a dog? I wouldn’t do that to a dog, my own or someone else’s. It would, however, provide a novel excuse for missing a deadline: “The dog ate the (whatever).” The dog might also solve the problem of the pestiferous co-worker. The dog could also provide appropriate “comment” on management’s latest nefarious scheme.
You could also say, with perfect truth and sirius-ness, that your place of employment has gone to the dogs.
Beautiful downtown Clodine, TX - a slab of concrete on the (used to be) far west side of Houston. The far west side keeps moving, uh, farther west. Central USA Time Zone, and I might tune in to BCN at any time during the day or night, but I usually get the broadcast as soon as it comes on the air here right after midnight.
Germany, four cats, just finished a shared dinner with a nice glass of white wine for me and some beef for the cats at 8:00 p.m. in my part of the world. I discovered BCN in the pre-gocomics stage. Loved the artwork, the watercolours and the cartoonist’s love for cats. Henry, Minou, Schnurri (Purrer in your parlance) and Tiger send their love. A special “Hello” to Robin. “I love a sunburnt country” .

Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy nights of summer
Those nights of Baba and Agnes so dear
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy nights of summer
Dust off the stars and moon and sing a song of cheer
Just fill your trip bag full of magic and myst’ries
Then lock the barn up, now you’re set
And in the fields you’ll see possums eatin’ ice creamies
As cute as ever and as happy as they get
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy nights of summer
Those nights of raccoons and fireflies – no fear
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy nights of summer
You’ll wish that summer could always be here

Hey, this was really fun
We hope you liked it too
Seems like we’ve just begun
When suddenly we’re through
Goodnight, goodnight, good viewers, goodnight
‘Cause now it’s time to go
But, hey, I say, well, that’s OK
‘Cause we’ll see you very soon, I know
Very soon, I know
Goodnight, goodnight, good viewers, goodnight
(Goodnight)
And tomorrow, just like today
The mouse, the cat and the Big Pink House
We’ll be waiting for you to come and play
To come and play, to come and play
Bye now.

From The Who’s Tommy: Amazing Journey
Agnes and Baba
Traveling through an amazing night land
Sharing a dream, a wonderful dream
With friends and cats
…….
Silver or gold? Mystery unfolds so much we need to see,
Loving life and traveling along
In simplicity.
Curiosity will surely take us far,
And together we are gonna go
Come on the amazing journey
And learn all you should know!
…….A slight bit of tiredness
Creeps up on me
All at once all orb friends I suddenly see
Sharing a journey all through the night
In a sky full of stars, what a beautiful sight!
