This looks familiar! In the movie “Dragonslayer” (1981)… the King comes along after the dragon is dead and stabs a sword into it. Near by… his herald announces he is the great slayer of dragons.

It doesn’t look fully intact. Where are the huge rear leg bones? Wasn’t the thigh bone alone supposed to be the height of a man?

A lot of people take credit for things they’ve never done and blame other people for things they have done.

The history of a conflict is written by the winner(s) of that conflict. It is subsequently rewritten, not the actual events, but the motivations and ideologies of the principal actors, to meet the zeitgeist of the moment as time goes on.

I am pretty sure that is similar to how the first Dragon Slayers did it. A dinosaur skull in the castle keep would be hard to argue with.

Harry Turtledove, writing as "H. N. Turteltaub, wrote a wonderful and informative book (The Gryphon’s Skull) about traders from Rhodes during the time of ancient Greece who find the skull of some prehistoric creature, likely a dinosaur. They believe it came from a creature known as a gryphon (griffin) and attempt to transport it to Athens for the scholars to study.

If you’re going to rewrite History Thor maybe you should focus more on the truth.

Bones don’t last long out in the open. In a century or two at the most, you probably won’t even be able to prove they were there.
