We have 3 states of emotion going at once. Howdy, running like his string’s cut off; Coney cool as a frozen hard serve and Guy, scared he is about to be between opposing sets of guns. Tension mounts !

True to form, Coney is not a fighter. He’s a fairly bland, plain-vanilla type of guy, who never gets too excited. No way is Coney going to shoot back if threatened.

Howdy is a bit more unpredictable. If my guess is correct, he already fired shots in Dethany’s direction at the beginning of this story.

Note to Howdy: Why is Coney so calm? Remember the aphorism: If you’ve been at the poker table for a while and you still don’t know who the patsy is — you’re the patsy! Coney knows, and you don’t…

The continued inconsistencies is going to totally destroy this once great strip.

I know there has been ups and downs in the writing (inevitable — I couldn’t come up with consistent story ideas 24/7/365 for a living), but this arc has been well-paced, in my opinion. Sometimes it’s felt rushed. The story moves forward each day nicely.

Avenger talks about consistency, the last time Coney appeared..July 29 and 30th, he had round, blacks eyes. Now look. Is the dude melting, or have the stooges running this show fallen into early dementia? Really sad, and Avenger correctly laments.

Fritz Ann has disappeared as fast as she first got to the door! The Battering Ram does its thing (is that Sam in green and gloves, swinging the ram?), and Tracy (not Fritz Ann, FBI Inspector Dietrich) bursts in, gun drawn. Coney, meanwhile is consumed with consuming his strawberry cone even as Howdy panics. Will Howdy resist the combined force of Tracy, MCU, and FBI (Fritzie’s gotta be somewhere)? Is he even armed? Is fearful Guy rescued, or caught in the line of fire? Will desperate Dethany really hold back with Sam, or will she rush in recklessly?

Fast action ahead!

Well, now I know why Stooge’s loot has gone undiscovered all this time. Coney seems to have the urgency of a tranquilized sloth.

In the (3rd) 4th (5th) panel it looks like he has has another kind of cone before hand. I guess Ice cream is his munchies.
