Janis, why not run down to the Gulf Coast beaches to join with the joyous holiday crowds frolicking on the sands? That will spice up next week for you, I should think.
I’ve got a nice grille, propane on one side and charcoal on the other. Don’t use it much because of the neighbors, there’s kids that scream most of the day and a guy who smokes on his deck about 20 feet from our gazebo. Maybe when the rainy season starts.
OK, here’s the disconnect for me. He’s cooking three burgers, possibly more. At their age, they can’t possibly eat all of that. We demand realism in our comic strips, darnit!
Mix the meat with seasoned salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Worcestershire, chopped onion, and shredded extra-sharp cheddar before forming patties; serve on brioche or pretzel bun (toasted), with ketchup, mustard, lettuce, and homegrown tomato.
Never put steak sauce on a good steak. Never settle for a bad steak. Steak sauce is fine on burgers (but better mixed into the burger before grilling it).
Steak Sauce is the time-honored way to make a steak NOT taste like a steak. It was developed to cover the foul taste of “overly-aged” meat back in the days before refrigeration. Bring it on if that hamburger was left out too long.
Did my grilling today (my wife prefers to do all those dishes two days instead of one before the next work day). I had the fish she bought me yesterday, she had a hot dog (doesn’t like fish). Will have to decide when to reheat the brats and burgers I also did today, the leftover steak and pork loin from last week, and the fried chicken she bought because it’s cheaper than cooking fresh chicken.

It is getting more than a little monotonous. Better than being a statistic though IMHO.

Steak sauce? If you grill a steak right, you don’t need to smother it in sauce…

I have re-discovered A1 sauce this summer for burgers and impossible/beyond burgers. It’s a nice change of pace though I have no issues with ketchup.
