The annual meetings I get messages about generally hide that behavior behind bonuses for all the board members, though it seems to usually be based on the amount of stock they hold.
Every year the chairman gets a bonus. Either because he worked hard to generate record profits or he worked hard to keep the losses from being worse. The chairman never loses. The pee-ons on the other hand……………..
I worked for a company that got bought out first by one company and then 3 months later by another. The head of our office was complaining he ONLY got $15 million dollars as a bonus for the three months he was there instead to the $50 million he was supposed to get for that year.
We all felt so sorry for him.
I wonder what the rest of his severance package looked like?
The pay and bonuses for the company’s officers, upper management, and salesmen were based on the sales figures. For the rest of us any pay raises were calculated from the net profits. As the fiscal year end approached we would start hearing that our overall sales were great, but the profits were not as expected. I’m sure the big wigs felt so generous, as they doled out those up to 1% raises.
Well look at that, peons! It shows I am a fortune teller too. It tells me that I will be making another fortune this year! As a CEO I don’t even need a ouija board to know that it will be at your expense.

Is this eerily prescient comedy? As any French or German chairman of the board would say, “Oui” and “Ja”.

Self fulfilling prophecy… Again. Empty bord room in a year as everyone leaves to work for the competition.

I didn’t need a board to know that result.

Reminds me of the bank scandals when all the bank heads still got big bonuses even as their banks crashed.

Greed; financial, moral, theological, political, the path to power or doom. As inevitable as taxes and denial.

Son of a gun. That’s exactly what I thought. Executive logic is indeed a mix of hocus pocus and greed. That explains a lot.
