I too would like to know where Earl obtains such outlandish information.

I think that as you age, a lot of the peripheral things just kind of melt away until what’s left is the essential YOU. If you’re grouchy (but controlled about it), you age into a grouch. But my mom, who was always basically Pollyanna, gradually turned into a confused, out-of-shape, pudgy… HAPPY person.

You nailed it. Just be glad she didn’t nail you.

Grumpy can be a good thing. And if you don’t agree, just shut up. /s

My wife has bought me over time 5 Grumpy t-shirts. She has also bought me a Grumpy coffee mug. Ummmm…do you think there’s a message here somewhere? :-) Seriously thought, I do not have a grumpy disposition. Well, maybe I do when my arthritis acts up! :-)

Sometimes, I wake UP grumpy….other times, I let her SLEEP!!

LOL My wife and I had this conversation last night. I said she’s starting to get way more uppity about things where I have started to chill out more about things. yeah I still have a kink in my back from the couch.

Women have ovaries. And sometimes they “ovary act”. (I stole this one from somewhere).

Or is it that women are just tired of a lifetime of putting up with our nonsense ;)

Opal has ALWAYS been grumpy. She forgets who worked to put a roof over her head, food on the table, and clothes on her body. But then..that is just Opal. She is a grump, but lovable anyway.

Obviously, Earl, that’s why we have the stereotypes of mean old men yelling at neighbor kids to get off their lawns and sweet old grannies just sitting in their rockers knitting. :D :P

Men.. after work.. get to retire, take it easy so mellow just follows.. A woman’s work is never done.. grumpy is the best of several outcomes.. but that can change on a dime.

The longer people are married, the more they rub off on each other. I noticed this with my parents; as the years wore on, she picked up more of his irascible temperament, which, for her, wasn’t much, as she started out so very sweet, but it was noticeable. He, on the other hand, became a bit mellower as time went on.

As he said once, as he entered his 60s, “It’s a great old life, if you don’t weaken — and I feel faint.”. Before then, I’d never heard that last phrase, merely the first part.

Or NOT, Earl.

Word up, Earl.

Earl whispers, “……and I rest my case.”

Sometimes, I wake up grumpy. Sometimes I just let her sleep. Yeah, I know that’s an old one.

Way to prove him wrong Opal.

Maybe she has been contemplating all those wasted years……

Grumpy Old Men vs. Grumpy Old Women: I have always heard of GOM but never GOW.

Earl is lucky to have Opal to correct the misinformation…and so FORCEFULY.

I’m nearly 26 and I can be rather grumpy at times.

Lord help everyone when I get to Earl’s age! Haha.
