“It was a spot held by the dwellers in some outer space, a sort of peep-hole whence they could spy upon the earth, themselves unseen, a point where the veil between had worn a little thin. As the final result of too long a sojourn here, we should be carried over the border and deprived of what we called “our lives”, yet by mental, not physical, processes. In that sense, as he said, we should be the victims of our adventure — a sacrifice.”
When I was a kid in Tasmania, you could pick up the TV on the FM channels. And at night, we could pick up a lot of Australia (and further) AM channels, depending on the atmospheric conditions. Very ghostly…

Okay…I tried not to, but I seem compelled to mention that today is…..
National Cat Day!!!!
I know to many this seems silly, as clearly EVERY day is national cat day, but well, this one is official! And this way when I give my Nushi and Kira extra loves (and maybe treats) I have an extra reason for doing so.
I love sleeping Lupin! I love the author cleverly putting her signature In the picture whenever there’s writing within the story! And I love the Scottish (Dear departed) kitty cat!
I was driving home to Calgary on a rural highway one clear summer night when I picked up a Casper, Wyoming radio station from 1300+ kilometres away. One of those freak atmospheric conditions.
Georgia posted yesterday on Facebook that the paper dolls from the new book are now available as a free download for those who don’t want to cut up their book or want more copies. The paper dolls from the other books are there too along with some other extras from the book:
International Internet Day: On this day the first internet transmission/reception occurred. It consisted of the letters “L” and “O.” Supposedly, the transmission was supposed to be the word “login,” but the connection supposedly crashed. I think, however, that the transmission may have been complete, and also denotes the beginning of “leet,” in which the phonetic equivalent of a letter produces a word. In which case the transmission was: “el oh,” or “hello.” It is also possible that it was a warning to humanity in the form of an abbreviation: “Look Out!”
National Oatmeal Day: The US produces more oatmeal than any other country, though 93 percent goes for animal feed. (More in a minute.) For a grain that started out as a weed, oats have done very well. One day Samuel Johnson (dedicated Englishman) happened to come upon his friend James Boswell (profoundly Scots) eating oatmeal for breakfast. Johnson said, “Here in England we think such stuff fit only for horses.” Boswell calmly finished chewing, swallowed, and replied, “Aye. Better horses. Better men.” As I love oats and oatmeal, I cannot help but agree.
National Hermit Day: Some of us resemble that more than others, even in these times. I have strong hermit tendencies: “God made the mountains, God made the sky. God made the people—God knows why!” Hermits do not have to be religious, ascetic, or even philosophical, though many are. After all, if you live in solitude, what else do you have to do but ponder the meaning of life, the universe, and everything? (While struggling to survive, of course, and keeping track of your towel.) We now know the answer is 42.
National Cat Day: The most important holiday of the year—just ask a cat. Here are fifty famous, or infamous, quotes about cats: https://cattime.com/lifestyle/1470-famous-quotes-about-cats. For myself, what I treasure most about cats is twofold: Their honesty, and therefore, their affection.
I always read yesterday’s comments rather than today’s, (mainly because I hate missing anybody’s late comment!) so I rarely start a comment.
I (finally!) want to thank everybody for your Happy Birthday messages on Scaeva’s Monday Today Is post. We had a wonderful time, and the last of the sukiyaki will be eaten tonight. I am so pumped by how many people actually sent greetings!
And, sorry for the delay in thanking you all. I rarely want to comment unless I can get it just right, at the right time. “The perfect is the enemy of the good.”
You know, I wonder if is really like this, who knows, maybe the ghosts also have ghosts but the ghosts are us. This could apply to mirrors, because it could be a parallel world where everything we are doing is literally in the same amount of time. I dunno, this is most likely my brain deciding that It needs sleep and is trying to make me ramble until I fall asleep.

♫”Made a rag pile of my shiny clothes
Gonna warm my bones; Gonna warm my bones
I got silence on my radio
Let the air waves flow; Let the air waves flow
Oh I’m sleeping under strange strange skies
I’m just about a moonlight mile, on down the road”♫ (“Moonlight Mile”, Stones)

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Cat
And I’ve been waiting for these moments all my nine lives, oh Cat
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight? Oh Cat, oh Cat
Well, I can recall I was in trouble, and you lent a paw
I’ve seen your face before, my friend, but I don’t know if you ’member who I am
Well, I’m now here and hear you clearly, I hear you with my pointy ears
So I always grin, when I know the veil is thin
It’s all been what seems like years
And I can hear you coming over the air tonight, ghost cats
Well, I keep waiting for these moments all my nine lives, oh cats
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, ghost cats
Well, I’m like Paisley in a moment of “Our IX Lives”, oh Cat, oh Cat
Well, I remember, I remember, don’t worry, how could I ever forget?
It’s the first time, the last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, no, you don’t fool me
Well, you don’t always show, but my hope still grows
We’re no strangers, you and me
I hear RCO coming over air tonight, oh Cat

Traditional: Molly Malone
In a Rhode Island town,
Where cats do abound
There was a sweet kitty named Moggie Malone
She roamed around town,
Made nary a sound,
Except for the occasional Meow, Meow, Meow
…….
Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
She made the occasional Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
…….
One day Freddie Quinn,
Took Sweet Moggy in,
And soon she did find her
A new furrever home
And happy was she,
So warm and carefree,
That she lived long and happy
And no more did roam.
…….
Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
She made the occasional Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
…….
And now, to this day,
She visits the strays,
To tell them the stories of her days long ago,
Both happy and scary,
She still makes them merry,
Her friends and her spirit, sing Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
…….
Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
Her friends and her spirit sing Meow, Meow, Meow-Oh
