Strange… this election has made me think of when I worked in a Fabric, Art and Crafts Store. Merchandise for Christmas would be trucked in… in June/July. Each month something of that holiday would go on sale. Things that took a while to make was first. Stuff you could quickly slap together was some of the last. But all-in-all… us who worked there… began to hate Christmas. Christmas Party – Phhttt! Over your dead body! Red and Green… in December… still makes me cringe. The span between mid-December to mid-January – massive dump sale. For a short while we could breathe easy without the sounds of bells everywhere. Snowmen only on lawns. The smell of Gingerbread – only if you insist. It would be Peace On Earth. Until… June would roll around and we knew we had to do it all over again.
Actually, the news we watch (ABC, NBC, PBS) has been remarkably calm once the statisticians called it for Biden. The mango mistake has barely gotten any coverage there, and the news is about the Biden team starting to ramp up to take the reins. It’s refreshing, pleasant, calm. Though I am ramping up to send money to Jon Ossoff and Rev Warnock, both in Georgia. You might want to do that too: They’d be voices FOR good things instead of against. And if the people they would replace aren’t in the Senate, then McConnell wouldn’t be in charge there, which is an utterly delightful thought.
I was thinking about some of Obama’s supposed presidential scandals. Requesting mozzarella on his Philly Cheese Steak instead of Cheez Whiz. Asking for Grey Poupon instead of mustard. Wearing a tan suit. Watching newsrooms as they try to re-adapt under a Biden presidency should be interesting.
“…alas for Trump! I fear nothing more can be made of him. He has withered altogether. All the same, … I fancy he could do some mischief still in a small mean way.”
‘Quite capable,’ said Trump, ‘and more than a little. You made me laugh, you Democrat lordlings, riding along with all those great people so secure and so pleased with your little selves. You thought you had done very well out of it all, and could now just amble back and have a nice quiet time in the country. Trump’s home could be all wrecked, and he could be turned out, but no one could touch yours. Oh no! Biden would look after your affairs.‘
Trump laughed again. ’Not he! When his tools have done their task he drops them. But you must go dangling after him, dawdling and talking, and riding round twice as far as you needed. “Well,” thought I, "if they’re such fools, I will get ahead of them and teach them a lesson. One ill turn deserves another." It would have been a sharper lesson, if only you had given me a little more time and more Men. Still I have already done much that you will find it hard to mend or undo in your lives. And it will be pleasant to think of that and set it against my injuries.’
One of the things that happens during a transition is that the incoming President’s team gains access to the WH computer files including classified files. The purpose is to assure that the USA’s international interests transition smoothly to the new administration. tRump has not conceded because the WH staff needs more time to delete incriminating evidence. Hopefully the IT staff has been diligent in running backups. And backups of those backups.
I’m so relieved I can watch the news again; heck, I’m thrilled to be able to watch TV gain! The last couple of months have been horrid not just with the news, but with all the nasty commercials.
Biden is a “placeholder” he will be gone shortly after “a year and a day” so that Ms. Harris can complete his term, but still run for two full terms, it was the only way Democrats could guarantee a woman as president.
Trump, sore loser, crybaby, asshole and all-around mean person that he is, will do all in his power to damage the United States in the time he has remaining in office. The GOP Senate will enable him in these efforts.
The American people, especially his followers, let him down. We do not deserve his enlightened leadership. If he goes down, America must go down. We, the people, must go down first and we must go down harder. That’s the TRUMP way!
Do I really need a /s on the last paragraph? Substitute German for American and Hitler for Trump and it’s a history lesson – Berlin – April 1945.
There are so many thins that need attention and correction, but national news time has become more huckster time with only short blips of news between ads. When watching the national news I get the impression that I am going through a drive-by buffet – too little time for real sustenance.
This website contributes more to my mental health than all the professionals. Once upon a time, the news was balanced now mostly hateful. Now even the cartoons in USA Today are hateful. See my profile photo. That’s me after reading the news every AM. I finish by reading GoComics with a huge smile. Thank you, cartoonists and GoComics.
Well, in truth, I suspect that we will be hearing about this President/election for ages. I mean really, there are law suits, lawyer fees, book deals, TV shows, movies and lots of merchandising opportunities here. Everyone will be trying to monetize the last few years, for years.
The shouting is never over. It seems like all the news casters on every station believe that shouting makes them sound authoritative and conveys urgency to the stories.
I have heard people that worked the counting of the ballots state that certain ballots were tossed and not counted, and other things that can be considered fraud. Why not investigate, problem would be, who would everyone trust to investigate.
Chief Justice John Roberts is over Obamacare: ‘We spent all that time talking about broccoli’
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has had enough of the Affordable Care Act for the rest of his career on the bench.
His message to the parties involved in the latest Obamacare lawsuit was, “stop.”
“Stop asking the justices to do the work of Congress,” CNN reported. “Stop pulling the court into the partisan fracas. And perhaps especially, stop forcing this chief justice to return to the days when, as Roberts said Tuesday, ‘we spent all that time talking about broccoli.’”
Even though I’m not an American, I followed the elections staying up all night (13 hours time difference) just to enjoy the schadenfreude of Trump refusing to concede. Good times.

I think that there are several reasons why Trump (and most of the republicans) will not concede the election and let Biden’s transition have access-
-they are petty and pathetic
-they don’t want anyone else to see what they are trying to hide (so they can do more hidden damage)
-they want to delay, as long as possible, any attempt by the Biden administration to fix anything
