The History and Meaning of Upside-Down Christmas Trees Displaying a Christmas tree upside-down may date back to the 7th century. Legend has it that Boniface, a Benedictine monk, used the triangular shape of a fir tree to explain the Holy Trinity to pagans in Germany. It was subsequently hung end-over-end in celebration of Christianity.
Muffin is up to the challenge Grammy Opal. Trust me. We have got some crazy cats. And Rosco will hog the bathroom of he is anything like our dogs. We even had a cat that locked us out of our bathroom once LOL.
Reminds me of the office Christmas trees we had years ago. We were too cheep to buy a stand, so the tree hung from one of the heating vents over a table.

Okay Opal whats part two of the solution. Two sided tape on the bottom of the presents so they’ll stick to the ceiling and stay under the tree.

Cats would consider that as a challenge that can not be ignored!

I don’t see how this addresses the water problem.

Did Earl help Opal put the tree on the ceiling?

The trick is to simply have cat-proof ornaments (yarn ones, maybe) and refill the water as needed. Problems solve.

I’ve heard of upside down cakes, Opal but this is a little too much!

Looks like Opal glued everything in place. Nothing is hanging down ;-)

That’s why we always had a Christmas Cactus – no climbing, no water.

It’s an Australian Christmas tree, Mate.

Getting an artificial tree will solve the Roscoe/water problem. Getting rid of a cat will solve the Muffin/climbing problem.

And when the tree sharts shedding…what’s the solution then?

Last year I started seeing pictures of upside down, ceiling trees, all over the internet. I don’t get it, what is the purpose?
Anyone here understand the upside down tree fad?

I called it yesterday! Hang it from the ceiling.
Ralph Newbill about 4 years ago
Nope; the cat hops from the chair to the star… and then is stuck.
Chris about 4 years ago
wow, why can’t my family take my advice about putting stuff on the ceiling!? it would help a lot of the floor space problems.

A challenge for Muffin.. and Earl when he is asked to top up the water bowl. Roscoe don’t care so long as he still has access to the toilet bowl.

Now the bats will take up residence. You just can’t win, Opal.

At least Roscoe was drinking the tree water and not watering the tree.

What a festive looking stalactite!
Sailor46 USN 65-95 about 4 years ago
Well Roscoe won’t be drinking the water, but Muffin probably will still be a problem.

Has Opal told Earl that Batman is coming to visit?

Tie it to the ceiling.

There’s a restaurant/bar in town that used to hang the Christmas tree in the corner. Quite the conversation piece. Saved room and tables. ;-)
mjgaillard about 4 years ago
No water needed. As the tree dries and droops, it’s drooping in the right direction; looking fresher all the time.
