California is mostly losing population through lower birth rates. Despite a few high-profile defections, most people who are leaving are poor and have run out of options, not disaffected rich people.

I lived in California in the early 70s and it was just like the Neil Diamond song, “rents were low and the feeling was laid back”. Times have certainly changed.

Nope, It was the Fires, Floods and Earthquakes. Plus the freeway shootings. I lived there for 6 years in the early 90’s and hated it. We only got 6 inches of rain a year and I love rain.
