Between panels 2 and 3, one of them must have chopped up the other and stuffed the remains in his bag.

Maybe they are not looking for candy. Not only that at least.

Once we had drivers license, my parents insisted we stay home to give out the candy. And wear a mask.

It worked a lot better than we thought. The person manning the candy bowl has immediate access AND time to stir it around looking for the good bits.

sometimes those big kids really are kids in big bodies; had a father yell at my son for being too old for the kiddie pool; my son responded, “I be 3 year old.” This odious man continues, “yeah who says so?” and son pointed to me and I waved back to the both of them.

In my community we have strict rules. Kids must trick or treat with ID cards. Anyone 12 or younger and with a costume gets candies. Anyone 13 or older gets carved into a lawn ornament.

Heh. In high school, one of my classmates came to the door in street clothes with a pillowcase. Said he had to fill up the pillowcase for the fraternity he was pledging. (Yes, we had Greek orgs in high school.) I didn’t mind helping a brutha out.

I can always let my dogs out if the “guests” are undesirable.. Being fairly well removed from the main road, we don’t get many if any unfamiliars anyway.

I usually give them a hard time about it and make them tell me what they are before i give them candy. Then after about 2-3 groups of them come by I know it’s time to go dark.

As a child, I absolutely adored Halloween and trick-or-treating! Since I couldn’t bare to give it up, when I was 16 I went to a buddy’s house in another neighborhood and dressed as the hunchback. He wouldn’t go – saying we were too old -so I went alone. I had thought that by hunching over it would belie by 6’+ size and fool people. It didn’t. One homeowner said: “You’re a little big to be trick or treating, aren’t you?” That was the end for me. Sigh…

Losing candy > getting vandalized. Simple math, especially since candy will be on sale on November 1st.

Halloween is absolutely my most favorite holiday all year. I just love seeing the little kids come around in their cute little costumes. And I always have enuf candy on hand for the big kids who show up at the end of the evening as well. I figure if they take it, I won’t be tempted.
