Mostly, it’s not the girls or women who are all about open carry. Mostly.

This brings to mind the classic Onion headline: “‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens”. They’ve been recycling the story for years, whenever there’s a major mass shooting, changing only the state and the body count.

When nothing was changed following the Newtown massacre, of 20 kids only 5 or 6 years old, I knew it was hopeless. Sure, 90% of Americans believe that psychotic people shouldn’t have access to firearms, but good luck campaigning on making that a reality.

Damned sad. Spot on, but damned sad nonetheless.

Hadda pass this one for a bit, then come back. Still don’t like it much but truly hate the bitter irony of such depictions. Can’t decide if the CG is armed against drive-by shooters or students with evil intent carrying weapons to school. Both have happened and nothing says those incidents were the last.

She’s probably “armed” against aggressive drivers who speed through active school zones. I once flagged down a speeding garbage truck that slid with his brakes locked for nearly 200 feet before slowing as he entered an active school zone.

In years past, we had a local crossing guard hit by an aggressive driver in an active school zone. Her replacement crossing guard that week had another aggressive driver not slow and stop when she was preparing to cross elementary school children.

She “ninja’ed” her metal hand-held stop sign into the guy’s windshield, where it stuck after imbedding itself. He stopped, and was cited by the police for his violations.

I have no respect or compassion for people who unthinking endanger children or the innocent.

That said, it’s a comic. Maybe the artist was commenting on people who violate school crossing laws. I see it that way, but I could be wrong

From all this way across the great Pacific, I thought (as did a lot of us) that the sign that was mainly used said something like “Stop – Don’t Shoot”, especially if you were a person of colour.

A pistol against an F-150? I think the F-150 would win.

Too bad defending the police, left no actual officer at the crosswalk of that school. Children are left to fend for themselves, but hey its worth it to get rid of the cops.

With the increase in people running over “protesters”, as in anyone who might be, that may be needed at one point.

The driver would claim self-defense. The children were posing a threat to him.

But who will think of the firearms CEO’s and stockholders, the accused thief Wayne LaPierre, and the shills of the ILA branch of the NRA, and of course that lying POS Alex Jones?

Well, unfortunately it’s nothing new and it’s not going to change except to get even worse. So the only thing to do is to tax the hell out of it. Guns, ammo, anything that goes into making guns and ammo, people that buy/sell, etc and set up a benefit to victims (or family of if no survivors) of gun violence.People should have to be licensed to own / operate a firearm and have to be retrained and retested periodically to maintain the license. The violence will retreat when no one can afford to keep it up.

Nothing to see here. Move on.

Guns vs Cars. Lots of talk about reducing gun violence but nothing about reducing car violence. You would think there would be some by now

Can’t help but wonder why Wiley picked a demographic so statistically unrepresentive of the perpetrators of most gun violence.

There is always the theory of the good guy with a gun stopping the bad guy with a gun. Considering that good people outnumber bad people 100 to 1, we should arm every man, woman and child.

It’s impossible for her to shoot with her hands being full of signs.

If this type of situation is happening often enough that we can find humour in it, I am disappointed for and disgusted with general humanity.

The bandolier on the crossing guard says it all, don’t mess with me.

Unfortunately, in some neighborhoods, if you slow down, someone else may shoot you. I really, really wish I were kidding.

My Granddaughter was killed in a school shooting on 18 May 18 Santa Fe Texas high school. RIP Kimberly. I find this very offensive. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

I’d like to see the pop-up barriers installed in streets so people can cross safely. And as a school bus driver, I’d like to have paintball guns installed in all buses to blast the cretins who run our reds.

Let’s hope we disarm the police state before this becomes reality.

Instead we need to arm bears.

An English rock band, The Boomtown Rats, released a song in 1978 that became a hit on campus radio stations in America called, “I Don’t Like Mondays”. Cheery little melody with a violent description of a little girl unhinged and killing several elementary school kids with a .22 rifle across the street from her home in San Diego. When eventually apprehended and questioned by police, the little girl said she did it because she didn’t like Mondays. Bob Geldof, the band’s lead singer, couldn’t comprehend the idea that a little girl with a rifle could wreck so much carnage. It didn’t make sense then and it still doesn’t make sense today. And 44 years later the carnage continues.

As a former crossing guard, I think it is spot on!

As a person who walks for exercise, I read this as the crossing guard making it clear to any car crossing her crosswalk was going to regret it
