That’s a really haunting last image of Yeti. Both creepy and a little sad. So, wrapping up, plot-wise the story was just ehhhh. It was a Minit Mystery that was stretched to six weeks. But the story’s real strength was its characters. Ferret, Ape and Rose were memorable characters and F+A displayed real heart and personality that made the reader care about them. Kudos to Mark for that and kudos to Shelley for her amazing art. I was a little worried when Joe S left but Pleger has not only proven a worthy successor but dare I say it, even surpassed Joe.
He’ll need a long hike to get beyond where the police think anyone would go to finally surface. What bad guy doc will fix this buzzard up ? He’ll go into cold storage like that time traveling guy whose hand showed up a bit late with the rest of him possibly going even further ahead in time.
It doesn’t feel like an ending. It feels as unfinished as Yeti’s last story. Nevertheless, I’d like to once again thank Mark, who came through in the crunch with an enjoyable story and a lot of entertaining posts in the comments.
Thanks to Mark Barnard for the story and Shelley Pleger for the art. I really enjoyed this story. I am not looking for perfection just something to enjoy reading everyday. Hoping to see Mark again for the continuation of the Yeti story.
Yeti was dead at the end of last arc from spider venom. He’s only wounded as this arc draws to a close. Perhaps at the end of the next arc he’ll get away by leaping a tall building with a single bound…
But, more seriously, one of the potentially better foes to come along in ages. I wish Mark had the time to develop things a little slower rather than the storyline feeling so rushed.
And that’s a wrap. Thanks for tolerating me guys. Be sure to spay your teeth, floss your household pets and start each day with a smile. It’s back to the usual Saturday morning grind and chores, here.
Speaking of hats, due to all the St. Patrick’s Day parades and other events scheduled around Tracyville today, I can break out my Sam-style kelly green homburg and sport it through Thursday. Maybe I’ll run in to Sam catchin’ some corned beef and cabbage. Erin go bragh!
The last panel tells me that some of Rose’s shots connected….Yeti’s staggering reminds me of Lee Marvin’s character in that 1964 movie, “The Killers”. He will “buy the farm” or “kick the bucket” heck of a way to go out. The police find his list of customers, unless he had the foresight to delete it. Ferret and Ape will tell what they know to get a better deal. Right now, the charge is leaving the scene of an accident. A fine, jail time and community service, these two will go straight.

SUCCESSES:* 1- I’m alive. Hmmm. That’s it. ANYWAY, I know that Pennywise is down here somewhere. I think he’d be willing to help me. (I’ve always wondered how he monetized the eating of little kids. I don’t really see the payday in that…)
Covering the entire sewer system? you’re assuming he wants to come out. He’s been living down there for years. Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
I wonder if Yeti’s spider is still living in the sewers and that Yet I will meet up with it ?
I also wonder if the Ace of Spades and Doubleup are still in the sewers as well… Haven’t seen them since Ace and Double escaped Tracy by entering the sewer/tunnel system…
A satisfying, if very open-ended, conclusion to Mark’s story! Wichita1.0 has managed a good piece of storytelling on short notice and with length-constraints, and Shelley has done a fabulous series of dramatic snapshots of the action. Today, as always, the art is fine, symmetrical in this case with astonished Sam in panel 1 balanced by problematic, clearly wounded Yeti in the lower sewer in panel 3, with an iconic Tracy and Sam in between (panel 2); I think her “Tracy” has improved considerably just over the course of this tale.
Congratulations both to author and to artist! I look forward to seeing Mark’s work here again some day….
From the way Yeti walks, I’d say he’s badly injured, so it’s in his best interest to surrender to save his life, unless he’d rather die in the sewers like the rat he is!

Yeti lets the darts fly. Duck and cover if there’s time
Ferret sprawls. Ape drops and crawls. An endgame for their crime.
Yeti thinks he’s Scarface. Pulls the trigger. Does not aim
Rose cuts loose on Yeti. She’s much better at this game.
“Drop your weapons! Grab the air! Now’s time for your surrender!”
Rose and Daisy give it up before they need a mender.
Ape is shot. Ferret is not. Now time to go to jail
Sewer slog for Yeti means there’s many ways to fail.
Slip away on his last day. Now Yeti’s leaking claret
Time to run. All fun is done. A poisoner sans merit.
