THANK YOU for your {{{HUGS}}}, purrs, headbutts, good wishes, and financial assistance, I GOT MY BATTERY!!! I am now officially mobile again. Picked up roommate #2’s pills and everything!
I admit that your recovery slipped past my notice. Sorry about that. Be assured that you have my full sympathy for the process. Like quite a few of us here, I’ve been through it and know the ups and downs. Remember, doom is for other people, not you.
Oh.. OT … my mother-in-law is being flown to Perth to an ICU there. Her blood oxygen dropped down :( That’s all we really know right now, we’re just holding it together..
OT: I’m being discharged today from hospital #2 and will begin in-home nursing and PT. So eager to see my two mini-panthers again. The hospital allows pets to be brought as far as the lobby doors, but I didn’t want to subject them to a car ride across town.I used to take my mother’s Korat (harness-trained) to visit her in the nursing home. All the residents wanted to visit with the cat. I wish more group residences allowed companion animals.
I kind of feel sorry for the cactus. There she? is, just standing there, totally innocent and unaware with that little smile on her face while they plot to take her out…
A little feel good story: a little over 2 months ago the apartments where I live decided to cut down some trees. (Still do not know why). A sweet neighborhood feral got scared from the noise and ran up a tree to the 2nd story roof. Then the contractors cut down the tree. There was no other way down. Several tenants contacted the office to let them know and were told nothing would be done as is is company policy not to let anyone on the roofs. We told them we would pay for trappers and were still denied. We called Animal Control and they said since it was private property, they could only rescue with permission from the owners – which they could not get. So, we bought our own ladder and at night would put food and water out for her. We could not catch her as she found a weep hole and was getting into a crawl space. We set up a trap on the 2nd floor balcony and put a board up to the roof at night when no one was in the office. The cat finally came down and we trapped her. Took her immediately to the vet and found out she was a little dehydrated but otherwise healthy. 2 weeks later Amber (named because of her eyes) is now fixed, fat and happy!!! Everyone wanted to adopt her so we drew out of a hat. I won!!!
Off-topic: while walking my cat yesterday, a woman walking her dog stopped and asked me if my cat played with her little black cat. It turns out that the little black cat, who has been raiding my cats’ food for the last couple of years, has a perfectly good home. I’ve been calling her “Ninja” but her home name is “Cricket” (go figure).
I told her they were “frenemies”. She was shocked that her dear chum, who has unlimited access to cat food all day, would be burglaring my house on the other side of the block. Of course, “Cricket” also hunts gophers all day and brings them home to her. So, no surprise to me that “ninja-ing” past my cats, through the cat flap into my house, is just another sport. That little rascal . :)
Taller is better but it must be stable. If it once tips over while being climbed, some cats will avoid it forever. The best tall ones have a ceiling brace.
Swatting is always good. Sometimes my cat does the swat-and-run on me just for fun.
Took my cat for annual vet visit. She’s not a vocal cat, but it always happens when I take her to the Vet. On the way there, she is crying so much, that I told her that she was wasting her talent on me and should save it for the Vet. He (vet) is such a stickler for vocal, pretty cats. (I know, he meets at least 20 of them a month). He tells me my cat is very healthy and perfect weight. And that her vocal cords are needing lubrication (I guess wet food). On the trip home, Angel decides to tell me that I need to feed her wet food along with her dry diet. That cat has me wrapped around her pretty toe beans and she seems so needy now. What a Diva…..
I broke my own rule…..I promised myself that I would not comment here anymore, cuz of conflicting interest. I’m sorry to you all if I made any comments that offended you.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Puckmosis: This has been a lovely visit, Floofnet. Thanks for showing us around the pyramid.
Floofnet: It’s been my pleasure. Tell Thomios I’ll be visiting as soon as I can make the arrangements.
Puckmosis: Will do. We’ll be heading back as soon as Kara and Vann finish their breakfast.
Iron Glove: I can’t wait to make some cooking tools like my ancestors used to.
Adobe Style: And I’d like to make tapestries like my family did.
Sometime Later
Lupinium: It’s good to be home. I have to prepare for my tumbling class on Saturday.
Elvis-Anum: Aren’t you going be jockeying for Avenger this Saturday?
Lupinium: No, the Salisbury Stakes isn’t until the third Saturday.
Elvis-Anum: This is the third Saturday, you goof!
Lupinium: Maybe I can reschedule the class.
Elvis: But all the kittens have signed up. Not to mention you promised Her Majesty to do this.
Lupinium: Oh, no. What am I going to tell Avenger?
To be continued

That certainly is one way to determine if something is dangerous. Now you just need to worry if the cactus is playing the long game.

… Oh baby, baby, we are predisposed to know
That something isn’t right here
Oh baby, baby, I shouldn’t just let it go
Though you’re kind of frightful, yeah
Show us you’re not mean and stabby
Tell me baby ’cause I need to know now, oh because
… Curiosity is killing me (and I)
I must confess I still believe (still believe)
That you may be charming and not unkind
Hope you don’t mind
Hit you baby one more time
Swat you baby one more time
