It’s not that they advocate not teaching history. They want history taught the way they see it. Lost Cause, anyone? Or any number of revisionist Nazi history concerning the Eastern Front propagated by Nazi generals after 1945. The untermensch of the East defeated the best divisions of the Nazi army on the Eastern Front. What does that say about the master race?

Okay. That is likely my limit.

Wiley seems to increasingly have turned into a dogmatic systematically indoctrinated hate-spewing partisan zealot, who consistently communicates via divisive twisted funhouse mirror straw man propaganda, and cannot possibly be reasoned with, as he isn’t interested in any compromises or middle-ground, just in demonisation and complete dead earth destruction of anybody who disagree with him in the slightest, much like far too many others.

Some of his recent comic strips have entered hate-speech territory, and I am far more interested in holistic social healing, balance, and civil conversation to find constructive solutions.

No, we have to teach history. Otherwise how would we know who to hate?

Let us not forget how the Native Americans rolled out the red carpet for us white folks and our “Manifest Destiny.” (BTW: Hitler loved American Westerns as white people replaced the inferior races – we went west he went east. However to suggest that this was genocide is WOKE.)

Also black people do not have proper respect for white people. After all WE

    - Gave them free passage to this great country

    - Gave them free room and board

    - Gave them a job

    - Kept them from being eaten by lions

    - Civilized them

    - Saved their pagan souls (even the Muslims) by converting them to the white man’s Christianity

Coming soon to History Textbooks in Florida and Texas.

Teaching history is great; teaching children that they were born racists is not. Black and white kids play together and are good friends. Then they go to class and are taught that the white kid really isn’t a friend; he’s a natural born racist. Not all schools have fallen for this, but 1 is too many. Teach kids the truth about the history of the Klan, witch hunts, and facism, which we did do 50 years ago, but don’t tell little kids that they are naturally born to be evil.

Ah yes vouchers(the GQP version in OK is to let each kids yearly $$$[which is still one of the lowest in the country]follow the kid, home school, religious school, whatever the basic idea is to destroy common education, which is working without vouchers as more teachers leave every summer and fewer college students want to be underpaid and overworked teachers) the super majority GQP state of Oklahoma tried doing that this year, but the State Senate said no. But it will be back again next year, Gov Stitt really wants it and even if he loses his Jun 28 primary, someone in the Lege will push it next year. Hell both Gov Stitt and the GQP Lege sat on the EPIC home school scandal(the for profit school owners stole tens of millions of $$$ from the state and everyone in power did their best to totally ignore everything) for more than 2 years

The US stopped teaching history decades ago. When I was in high school, I took a “class” called “History of the USSR.” At no point in that class did I learn anything relevant about the history of the USSR, other than a morsel of Marxist philosophy. The entire subject matter was a high school teacher’s interpretation of how to introduce detached students to concepts that would call capitalism into question.

Relevant subjects (among others) not covered, all of which I’ve picked up on my own since then: Pre-USSR history of Kyiv, Novgorod, the Rus, early czars, Moscovy, Poland/Lithuania, Mongolian conquest of Russia, the Great Northern War. The White Russians and the February revolution. Foundation of the USSR and the various republics. Pre-USSR history of any of the 15 republics, even including Russia. The assassination attempt on Lenin. Anything at all about Trotsky, Beria, Molotov, Malenkov, Stalin, Khrushchev or Brezhnev. Role of the USSR in World War II. Anything at all about the uprisings in Hungary and Czechoslovakia. Anything at all about the Cuban Missile Crisis.

US history was taught a teensy bit better. They did manage to actually mention that we had had a Civil War.

Isaac Asimov nailed it in a Newsweek essay back in 1980 -

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ’my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

“We have a new buzzword, too, for anyone who admires competence, knowledge, learning and skill, and who wishes to spread it around. People like that are called “elitists”.

The unacknowledged problem here is that CRT and 1619 proponents advocate for a version of history which amounts to myth theory n supported by the facts. The left goes along with it to absolve themselves of some perceived guilt which is baseless. It isn’t conservatives who are ignoring and rewriting history. It is the far left.

Buzz words like “critical race theory” allow critics to dismiss it as just another ultra-liberal movement. I’m in favor of the straight-forward teaching of what actually happened in America’s history. 1619 happened. Slavery happened. Juneteenth happened. Jim Crow happened. Lynching happened. The burning or bombing of homes, churches, and sometimes whole neighborhoods happened. The civil rights movement happened. The killing of civil rights leaders and workers happened. Anyone who thinks these facts shouldn’t be taught in schools should be obligated to explain why.

The KKK is mostly associated with the DNC not the RNC. The NAZI got many of there ideas from the DNC. its history look it up. I enjoy this cartoon but Wiley has to do some research if he’s going to make political points. The Idea of Critical Race Theory is pretty much what todays cartoon is about but not by the Conservative side.
