“thanks for bringing back some good memories there, Gweeds…”
Brought some back here too, like the one about an evening dorm inspection by our brand new 1st Sergeant. We, I, played one of the tamer cuts off “Have A” at the insistence of others as I would have gone head first into one of the more raucous numbers. The old boy got a kick out of my and roomie Jack’s presentation.
1-DT: DAG! It’s bad enough that every Moon Chick is hot but NOW I’m getting turned on by a statue OF MY FORMER DAUGHTER-IN-LAW WHO LOOKS LIKE MY FRIEND MYSTA!
2-MARINA: Yeah. We know why you been wearing that coat all the time ya big perv…
Apologies if I’ve got the relationships of the Moon Maid and Mysta to Tracy wrong.
Sorry, but I don’t understand this “Council” business. In the old Gould Moon stories it seemed pretty much like one-man rule. Whatever the Governor said was the law and he seemed more like an impulsive, but benevolent, dictator than a wimpy guy drinking coffee in the kitchen and kow-towing to some self-important Council. Also, he did not seem opposed to personally making a buck off of his international treaties and deals.
I have been wondering, being that Diet Smith played such a big role in the Original Moonmaid story, and how he even became attached to Mysta Chimera, why he isn’t a part of this storyline. I believe Mysta still lives at Diet Industries? One would think that he would have loved to see New Moon Valley.
OFF TOPIC: I am n idiot. Okay, AND a pack rat. I never dump prior drafts when writing, which usually means I have at least 4-5 in a single folder. Brilliant, huh? Well, just listening to the Kindle of the new book, and I found several wrong tenses and a missing word from when I altered a line but neglected to remove the old context. Means I have to try to re-buy my freebie copy tomorrow, after the right file is in place. WHEN the heck will I learn??
Looks as though perky Marina has Tracy all to herself at the Fountain of Mysta. Thorin, ex-Moon Governor and now Ambassador (to whom?), plainly exerts plenty of influence in New Moon Valley to be able to have had a statue erected in honor of his daughter; I’m not sure most Lunarians would have been aware of her res gestae in her short life, but no doubt they appreciate an attractive fountain in the central square. As Marina says, “[it’s] our most cherished monument.”
I’m still full of doubt over Marina’s ultimate part in the story. She seems to have the hots for Tracy (and he probably knows it), but that is not likely to go anywhere itself. She could be an agent provocateur for the cabal, but I doubt that also. Consequently, I fall back on the theory that she is going to end up a sacrificial tear-jerker, saving Tracy somehow at the expense of her own life….

Good morning™, all!
So, Tracy’s daughter-in-law, Moon Maid Mysta, is a the centre of honour of the Moon people. Very impressive.

Good morning™, shows of a monumental proportion !
So Marina really is as she comes across as, a sweet young thing with nary an evil bone in her body.

Well, I was hoping for a little more action today…like an abduction or something.

A possible weird question, was the original Moon Maid modelled after Marilyn Monroe and how she was dressed in that JFK birthday song footage?

wow, a monument to Moon Maid is not what I expected… I’m surprised, but I guess being as it’s Thorin’s daughter I understand…

This is nice for passing time…but when does the movie start?

Mysta does not seem to be very popular. Tracy and Marina seem to be the only ones there.

Big deal. There’s a statue of Tracy in Naperville.

Lovely statuary! Sculptures of human(oid) form that are also water features are always welcome!

It would be odd if there WASN’T a statue honoring the original Moon Maid.
Now,how does the fountain water keep from freezing?
