Republicans and democrats equally have been trying to starve education in this country for my entire lifetime that I know of (I’m eligible for social security), perhaps longer. I think the eventual goal is to be able to “fool all of the people all of the time.”

It all started with Reagan.

Still at it. Republicans voted against extending meals for school kids. So Christian, Family Values, Pro Life of them!!

One time, a guy I was talking with brought up Reagan and said something like, “Say what you will about him, he was a good leader.” I then reminded him that Reagan let the AIDS epidemic run rampant throughout the 80s because it was only killing people republicans want to kill anyway: black people, gay people, and people addicted to drugs. My friend put his head in his hands and dropped the subject after that. Good times.

I lost a $100 bet when Ronnie Ray Gun was elected. I couldn’t believe the American people would be so stupid as to elect a second-rate actor.

Needless to say, I didn’t wager a dime on the chances of the Orange Maroon being elected in 2016. By then, sadly, I had learned …
