C’mon Luann! Bernice didn’t tell her which story to write, but she persuaded her to write it and found a contest for her to enter. Her work as a muse was more than enough! Which story to write and how it’s a choice that is best if made by Luann herself, serves her as personal growth. Now, how many weeks it will take to find out if Luann has won? How a possible victory or loss will impact on Luann’s enjoying writing things? Nice to see Monstro is still alive.

Dang – This sounds like another week with the same story. Hasn’t Luann heard the old saying, “No Muse is good Muse.”

That’s it, Bernice! I’ve had it up to here with your stupid attitude! You’re always trying to feel superior to Luann and putting her down! Can’t you at least pretend to be a little supportive?

That poor fish needs something in its tank, not just water and emptiness. Give him a castle or plastic sea weeds to hide in.

I think she was useful as she got Luann to write the story.

Bern is helpful and supportive of Luann; she doesn’t do this in the touchy feely way that folks think friends should be like. But, two weeks ago Luann was listening to her tapes, reminiscing about her old self. Now, two weeks later (strip time) she’s taken a small piece, fleshed out a well written story and submitted it to a writing contest. She wouldn’t have done any of this without Bern; in fact she’d probably still be lying on her bed moaning about having not been able to attract Aaron Hill. As I recall when Luann was suddenly out of her job at Kids-1st it was Bern who created a job search profile for her and started search process. Bern is a go getter (abrasive… yes) ; Luann is sensitive and talented but passive. They need each other and the panels here suggest that neither intends to leave the other anytime soon.

I would think that “bra incidents” aren’t funny for teen girls, and, probably women of most ages? Would you think a “bra incident” happening to you would be funny, Bernice?

Wait a minute …. doesn’t someone owe me a McD’s coffee because they insisted Luann would never write something or send it to be published???

In other words, you’re useless Bernice.

Luann, ship the manuscript.

At least it looks like this story is over. That is good.

It would be nice to see more of the story where Nancy was at work and had an admirer.

Speaking of Monstro, my granddaughter, who was three at the time, had a Betta that she named Lenny Kravitz. I told my younger son and his wife, who were visiting, that Lenny Kravitz died. My daughter-in-law gasped, and said, “Lenny Kravitz died?” She was all shocked until I told her that it was Kassidy’s fish. LMAO!

Haven’t seen Nil for a while. Has he found someone else for inspiration/excitation?

Proof again the Bernice is no real friend.

Bernice just realized (1), she was helping Luann, and (2), what an important person she is – being a muse and all. The ultimate drama queen can now demand even more attention by telling everyone she felt like she was cheating on Nil. She could easily obsess about it for at least two or three months.

Bernice you are know real friend.

C’mon Luann, do you really want her as your muse anyway? Look at the dreck Nil produces. If that’s the level of quality she inspires in him, what’s the best you could hope for?

I hope they make Luann do well with her story. She deserves some happiness in a comic that bears her name.

Bernice just can’t stand to see Luann happy, can she? She was probably hoping that Luann would fail and give up on the whole story writing idea, but now that she has accomplished her goal and is happy, Bernice gets all uppity and rude. Their relationship is really toxic for Luann. I hope G&K do something about it.

I hope G&K revisit the muse storyline between Bernice and Nil. Either left Nil move on or Bernice overcomes her sexual neurosis. But this limbo is nauseating.

Yeah, I’m not one of the folks who like to trash Bernice, but that’s a pretty crappy response. It’s not like Luann can’t write more stuff…she’s certainly not short on material. Maybe share the joy for minute. “That’s great!” instead of “THAT’S what you wrote?” This isn’t about being a muse, it’s about being a friend (and not even a best friend, just a friend). Sheesh.
