Well, oenophiles ARE snobbish, more or less by definition. On the other hand, they’re more likely to get into a discussion of terroir or whether this bottle has notes of saddle leather or old smoker’s clothing, in my observation.
I wonder how many people won’t be offended, but will actually think it’s a great idea and will start cancelling those racist wineries which are not “neutral-friendly”.
I was invited to a wine-tasting once some years ago. We were given samples and asked to comment. I heard people talking about color, bouquet, “notes of” (whatever that means), and all that. When I was asked, all I could say was, “I guess April was a good month.” I was not invited back. 8>)
I remember one winery’s tasting room poured a white wine made from red grapes – they eliminated the grape skin contact with the juice, resulting in something to flummox the know-it-alls.

That’s were the drunks go – they don’t care what it is, as long as it has more alcohol than Night Train.

Is he saying that some wines are trans-color? I suppose that if a wine is aged wrong, it could happen.

Social warriors looking to mellow their anger buy it in quantity. Variety should be a key.

Bottlings usually qualify for the 1/2 off basket by tasting off by a half.

He’s right. Some complain about every thing that seems somehow not right in their opinion.
Like the sign. There are lots of places where whining is the main course but very few designated spots.

The irony is that the folks who are constantly complaining about people getting easily offended are becoming the biggest whiners!
