You could talk with one, while stuffing cheese in the other one.

Pig would probably stuff cheddar in one and Swiss in the other.

First mouth for cheese; second mouth for beer.

Pig – you have a mouth to hold that apple during your roast.

Goat seems to be kind of rude here. He should take the advise that he was in the process of giving himself. He should listen to pig.

And he should consider why and how and especially whether he should say something to Pig. (He may have a log that he needs to remove from his own eye first.)

You can take pills in another orifice. Maybe it’s good for cheese too.

Having two mouths is the start of being two faced.

Actually Goat, that’s exactly what you meant. If Pig is stuffing cheese into his mouth, he won’t be able to tell the story that you don’t want to listen to. So keep a hunk of cheddar handy and you never have to be polite and listen to Pig ever again.

So that we can listen twice as much as we speak.

It’s a shame most of us (like myself) don’t.

Judge Judy often tells a talkative person on her show that ‘proverb’: God gave you two ears and one mouth… listen more than you talk. She really is a hoot.

I always thought that was a rude comment. It’s basically saying “Shut up and listen to me.”

You mean that after all these years of shoving cheese into my ears I’ve been doing it wrong?

Whoa. There might be a song in that somewhere.

    All these years

    Shoving cheese in my ears

    …this thing practically writes itself!

Two mouths would be dangerous for humans. As it is, so many people mistake their one mouth for another bodily orifice.

We have two nostrils also. Are we supposed to smell twice as much as we talk?

Two ears allow you to tell what direction sounds are coming from. One mouth is mostly sufficient, particularly with amplification and social media.

On the one hand, this another example of Goat trying to impart wisdom to his friends and it not working, proving the title of this strip. On the other hand, what Pig said is much better than many of the headlines I read today.

Give up trying to educate Pig, Goat; that possibility is long since passed….
