It’s good to see that Lizz and Lee are out heading up a raid and not just standing around the office looking decorative. It’s too bad that Steelface’s new toy has worked so well in letting him hide the evidence.

How does Steel-eye know they hit Fred’s place unless he has someone watching to confirm ?  He sure is happy with his skill at working the Wrist Wizard. Now I wonder if we’ll get an explanation as to what he did to get that result.

OK, thanx to Sam’s amateurish behavior, Steelface has a 2-way wrist radio so he can listen in on police transmissions over those gadgets. I’m not sure, though, how that gives him enough time to clear out his chop shop operations before a raid, unless the police talk about pending raids over their wrist radios hours if not days ahead of time.

surprise surprise surprise… FINALLY, Liz and Lee have SOMETHING to do besides be background characters or not even MAKE an appearance… I think this is the first time that Diet’s two-way is being used against Tracy and Co…. thanks to Sam’s sloppiness in taking care of a gadget entrusted to him, of course… he should be chastised and reprimanded for it…

Steelface seems like a good boss…responsible and he takes care of his employees. Looks like a good place to work.

So, is Sam either too dense to notice his two-way is missing, or too afraid to tell anyone?

Superb illustrations today by Shelley Pleger! And very good writing by Mike Curtis… Tracy has found an enemy that likes to play cat and mouse. Steelface is brazen, but he’s not as smart as he thinks he is. Tracy is going to catch on, track him down and arrest him. Sam will be laughing at Steelface thru prison bars, as he sips his coffee.

This is stupid storytelling….1) Sam and the MCU had no reason why iron jaw was in town…hell, they dont even know if he IS 2) even the phone call, announced by the stagehand, didnt give any information as to where he was 3) Sam took it upon himself to assume it was the same Steelface simply by name alone…tho granted it’s a unique nickname 4) there had been no reports presented “on panel” of any sort of chop shop activity in tracyville 5) and simply because Sam’s car was stolen, NOW there is? 6) WHY bait the cops when they obviously have ZERO clue about your chop shop activity to begin with 7) are you REALLY that stupid to think the wrist wizard CAN’T be tracked?

Well at least Lee, and, Liz got to show off their outfits. Shouldn’t have Sam realized by now that, for whatever reason Mike can come up with, he left his wrist genie in his stolen car

But when the department KNOWS that their comms are compromised and keep using them, this is a major fail.

1-DISPATCH: One Eve Twelve! We got a report of overcharging for repairs made that we believe chicks can handle. LIZ: On it. Over. LIGHT ‘EM UP!

2-LIZ: We better go in with guns blazing!

3-FRED: WHAT? I’ve been overcharging only to the extent legally authorized by Police Chief Patton in appreciation of my contributions to his retirement fund!

4-LIZ: Bad intel, Tracy. Unless this guy hasn’t really been making his contributions?

5-TRACY: No. He’s current. Bring some crullers back to the Station. 10-12. No – make it 14. I’m hungry.

Several things here. In December 2016, Tracy’s Wrist Wizard suffered an explosive malfunction so on December 11, 2016 Diet Smith did a recall on all Wrist Wizards and gave a replacement which superficially resembles a 2-Way Wrist Radio, but with many of the equivalent functions of the newer design.

Why did Sam leave his 2-Way Wrist Radio in his car? As a seasoned cop he should know better.

I love the art today, and the hint of possible action. I am not familiar with proper police procedure, and I am wondering if a raid on a chop shop requires drawn weapons with fingers on the triggers. Yes, I know it is a comic.

I align with the school of thought that, yes, there is a chop shop operation going on, but, no, it isn’t at Fred’s. Fred’s Auto is just the innocent (well, as innocent as an auto repair shop ever is) rival to Steelface’s “legit” front operation to whom he misdirected the MCU-led raid.

It’s really too bad that for the first time in a long while that we see Lizz and Ebony in action, it’s a failed mission. This isn’t likely to inspire future operations’ being led by them.

Maybe at least one good comes of this; namely, over-confidence on the part of smugly self-satisfied (last panel) Arceneaux….

So there’s just one frequency for the wrist radio and/or no way to block lost ones? C’mon man.

Lizz looks different from when I first saw her in the 1970s.

If a policeman’s gun is stolen,he’s obligated to report it immediately.He’s on suspension in a big hurry if he doesn’t..

I’d like to think 2-way wrist gadgets have similar rules

When Tracy and MCU get wind of what is going on…they’ll change channels.
