BCN New Report: What is a Christmas tree? Is it a seasonal cat condo? a glamorous scratching post? or an obstacle course to test our feline agility? and why does the Woman insist on covering it with cat toys, if she won’t let us play with them?! Join us as the team investigates a young cat’s introduction to the Weird-Rules-of-the-Big-Pink-House!
Aw, even if Iggy WASN’T absolutely adorable curled up in the tree, he isn’t hurting anything. If the tree stays upright and the ornaments unbroken, what’s the harm?
I was just reading along, minding my own business, when O.Z. popped out of the tree in the last panel. Whereupon I laughed and laughed, right out loud.
It’s been almost two months, and PK is still living on the back of my office chair. When I am home, I will occasionally hear a crash as she falls asleep and tumbles one way or another off the high back to the seat or the floor. She climbs right back up after looking embarrassed for a few seconds. I hope she finds a new place to sleep soon. I don’t mind the clingiest little tortie in the East, and most days she’s content to sit on my shoulder and oversee my work at the computer. But I just got a new chair, and she is shredding the headrest! I tried covers but she just pulls them off every single time.
Okay, Iggy getting used to the house earlier this week was good enough, but watching the complete and total support he is getting from every cat in the vicinity completely warms my heart. Lupin and Iggy’s blossoming friendship has been a great focus lately, and even Dad Cat knows you have to let the children loose sometimes.
All of the cats I’ve had through the years didn’t climb trees. Some would try to eat it, but not climb it. Or they would lay under it. I can’t wait until Oopsie does.
I think she should just put a bed in the tree for him. And the other tree climber.
Just a reminder that what’s cute when little isn’t so cute when big. For example, people who allow puppies and kittens to nip their skin because it doesn’t hurt have a painful lesson to learn and teach when the babies get much bigger. Next year, Iggy, if he were allowed to grow up, will try this, and the tree could go boom and hurt him or someone else.
Aw, Iggy is so cute. Elvis being protective of the baby cats is wonderfully adorable. Ora Zella in the background of the last panel is so funny. I love it all! In other news, I recently recieved my copy of “Pucky Prince of Bacon”. I haven’t finished reading it yet, but so far it’s a wonderful mixture of nostalgia and some delicious new nuggets to enjoy. BCN always brings a smile to my face :)

Entrapment! Elvis will appeal this all the way to the Supreme Court (Nana)!
(Hey, it certainly worked for the Boy!)

If he’s not breaking anything, he’s fine. Let the good little Iggy climb the tree!
Also, Elvis, you’ve just described a couch. Just sayin’.

I’m with Elvis. Indulge the baby!!

He IS a baby and he’s sorry every time even though he doesn’t know why he should be sorry. He just wants the woman to be ok.

Now, I am not a lawyer, but the term “attractive nuisance” comes to mind in Iggy’s defense…

Little girl kitty poking her head out of the tree, last panel, saying, ‘yeah!’ I’m still giggling.

Also, Lupin’s tale is visible in the last panel as he disappears behind the tree.

Elvis has such a soft spot for kittens, even if he’s too dignified to admit it. ❤

O cozy night
Warm lights are brightly shining
Kit’s fast asleep in his own lofty perch
Long lay sweet boy after gently climbing
But would he prefer oak or even birch?
A tender “nope” the weary woman voices
As yonder breaks
A big and glorious yawn
Please let him be
O watch Lupin’s bad choices
O tree of pine
O tree where cats doth sleep
O night,
O cozy night,
A scene sublime
- Adolphe Adam – O Holy Night

Good ole Elvis, coming to the Iggy’s defense.
Holmes is in the tree…CONSTANTLY! Since he was feral, I guess the instinct is even more ingrained.

So cute sleeping in the tree, let him alone and enjoy the sqeee!

Oka going to D&Dize Iggy. Took me a while because he’s so quiet. I think he’s a split class between a scout Rogue and a Peace Domain Cleric

Traditional: I Saw Three Ships
I saw three cats all sleeping in
The Christmas tree, the Christmas tree
I saw three cats all sleeping in
The Christmas tree in the morning!
…….
There was our friend Iggy first in
The Christmas tree, the Christmas tree
For him there was no resistin’
The Christmas tree in the morning!
…….
There were two eyes looking out at me
From the Christmas tree, the Christmas tree
And the belonged to Ora Z
There on the Christmas tree in the morning!
…….
And then I saw a fluffy white tail
In the Christmas tree, the Christmas tree,
Lupin joined them with out fail!
In the Christmas tree in the morning!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Royal Kitchen
Thomios: Has anyone seen my dented soup kettle?
Sue Chef: No, but I did hear some giggling awhile back.
Sometime Later
Thomios: Here it is, no wonder I couldn’t find it. It’s all shiny and good as new.
Sue Chef: There’s no telling what happened.
At the Artisan’s Studio
Iggy Shipwright: Thanks for all your help. Fresh and Salty Cats have nets as good as new, and Thomios’ favorite soup kettle is good to go.
Iron Glove: Always glad to do metalwork.
Iggy: (Hmm…wonder how I can un-crime for the Artisans?)

So according to Elvis, Iggy is “a good little cat who never does anything wrong”? Really?
Because Elvis was sure singing a different tune about the little popper yesterday!
(Must be the Saturday-to-Sunday disconnect.)

Werewolf sighting in the last panel. Although with the way Elvis is puffed out, maybe that should be werewolf and lion sighting in the last panel.
And Iggy looks so precious in that thirf panel.
