People can mock flip phones, but mine is good for 10-12days on a charge. Phone calls and texts, everything else I do on my computer, which has a landscape monitor and a portrait monitor.
My phone charge will last quite awhile becaue I only ever turn it on when I am out and about doing errands and grocery shopping, which is maybe 2 to 3 times a month, or when I need to make a long distance call because I don’t have long distance on my landline. Most of the time it sits in my purse shut off and I have to remind myself every couple of days to turn it on and check voivemail and texts. My tablet, on the other hand, has been a pain lately, I can fully charge it then within a couple of days the charge is down to half way, even when it is shut off, I have only had it for 3 years so I don’t know why it won’t stay charged.
I have my cell phone collection as each of old phones has features current one does not. I would still have my last phone if not for my service company. While my phone was a 4G it was dropped from service when 3G was dropped. We received notice that this would happen and husband spent a good deal of time finding a replacement phone for me. He had to find the smallest, inexpensive phone he could. He told me that “everything would work the same way on the new phone”.
The new phone is about 25- 33% larger &heavier than my old phone. I have had to completely rearrange my jeans pockets to get the phone to fit in (and some non-jeans pants I own it does not fit in the pocket at all) – I keep it in a front pocket. Other than the basics of tapping, moving screens with fingers it does not work anything like my old phone. Phone rang a day or so after I got it. It is an unusual situation for it to ring other than texts from husband such as “come up I need help” or “ok” (in response to me texting to him “ok” meaning dinner is ready). It was a phone call – rare since don’t give the number other to a very limited group of family members and fellow board members of my embroidery club and of our reenactment unit. I stood and stared at the screen. There was only one button on it – old one had two, tap red button to reject, green to accept. Phone stopped ringing before I was able to figure it out, so went to husband and asked him to fix it – nothing to be fixed. Everything else is different also.
I can still make calls online with the old one and I keep the files in it up to date by signing into google when changes are (rarely) made.
I keep the old phones as my Palm Centro syncs with Lotus Organizer in my computers (in a virtual Windows XP machine in each computer which is after XP) and LO is the best calendar, etc program I have found. Each phone has different software (also a Blackberry) which I like and continue to use for games, etc. so keep all of them.

My wife has to charge hers every night too. Of course, she talks more on her, too!

How do you get any phone to last more than two days.

I have to charge mine once a day even if I don’t use it at all!

By the time I realize my phone isn’t taking a charge, I barely have time to get it repaired or replaced.

I get this. I charge my phone about every 3 days while wifey has to charge hers twice a day.

Just a reminder of how many times a day technology, especially computer technology, creates stress.

It’s a puzzle to me. Seems everybody complains about weak phone batteries but they still want a battery powered car.

Update to yesterday’s conversation:
For the best security, yes, use DuckDuckGo, but use it with the Brave browser.
By the way, Brave comes with Tor included.

MY old flip phone COULD go a week without recharging. My new and improved flip phone won’t make it two days.

He must be going hog wild with his usage.
(Mine barely lasts the day, but I acknowledge heavy usage.)

5g takes a lot of power, even with a giant battery my phone drains pretty quickly, unless I don’t have that available or disable it.

Don’t leave it dead like that it could put the phone out of commission permanently.

I will say that the probability of the batteries dying is directly proportional to how badly I need to use the device…
