How did a pic of Brdshtt’s family room get in this strip?? LOL
Seriously though, they did a nice job with getting it all decorated. And they did it quickly. So what does Nancy expect people to do with the ‘Christmas’ paper towels?? lol It’s too bad Toni and Brad left. Was hoping they would be in more of the story.
.
I see they have 5 stockings hung. I assume for Frank, Nancy, Brad, Toni, and Luann. Shouldn’t they have put one up for Shannon, as well?
There’s something strange in Luanniverse. This week’s arc starts the much-anticipated Christmas are culminating on a blow out Sunday panel which conveniently falls on Christmas Day. It would be no stretch of the imagination to believe that this sequence of events has been carefully thought out and planned for some weeks, if not months.
However! A glitch in the fabric of the Luanniverse occurred. The weekly sequence was interrupted From December 5th thru the 10th! That was supposed to be the week that the girl sleuths sought the cause of the broken window, ending with the appearance of an unnamed hunky repairman from Casual Glass. That implies that there was to be time for another week of strips between there and the current Christmas week.
What do you suppose was/is that strip. Was it a continuation of the window repairman interacting with the girls? Further revelations re the neighborhood “creep?” Would there be a cliffhanger ending with Tiff and Steph squaring off over Mr. Hunk? Come December 26th, will the missing week start back up with where it was supposed to leave off?
I was at a friends house the other day who did something like this. Although she also had Christmas-themed toilet seat covers that were so bulky that the lid wouldn’t stay up.
Greg doesn’t hate Christmas, but Christmas is better in our memories than it is holding a string of tangled up lights. When my dad hauled out the extension ladder and handed me the lights and told me climb up in freezing weather and string those lights, Christmas lost its jolly.
As a child I had a good friend by the name of Hector and he lived with his grandmother who was known as Mrs Cuevas. Nancy reminds me a bit of Mrs Cuevas. One thing that Mrs Cuevas did which probably topped Nancy was this: in her living room she had put plastic covers on her nice divan and loveseat and she also did this to her couch in the Florida room. I remember one day after riding our bikes around we went to Hector’s and plopped down on the couch to cool off and watch a bit of Scooby Doo and the Monkees on WTOG. We had sat down for a split second and then we heard a “Dios Mio” (or maybe it was “Por Dios”) followed by “What are you kids doing? You are going to dirty that new cover I bought! Go outside and play some more!” Now that I look back at that it makes me laugh and Mrs Cuevas was really nice most of the time, made us kids guava pastelitos, man they were good, better than the ones you could get at Publix or most of the local bakeries. Rest in Peace Grandma Cuevas.
Nancy is having a touch of holiday anxiety. Yesterday, she was directing, assigning tasks. Today, now that everything is in place, she wants to keep the Christmas things for Christmas.
All of these were obviously created before Shannon and Bernice. Greg probably has a huge library of filler ready for when he’s on vacation. Probably won’t start with the day to day again until after New Years.
Very beautifull. Luann’s skill in stage design probably came from Nancy. I wonder if she also decides the decorations for The Fuse. But keeping the house like this for all the holidays without being able to touch anything seems really tiring.
That’s my wife to a T. Says I put out new clean towels because the others were dirty. Me uses towel. I get glare of death and ask What? You put the towels out to be used… I give up.
Nancy – “They’re for decoration, not for use. I’ve had that roll now for twenty years. Use that old pair of your father’s underwear hanging under the sink”
Years ago, a friend invited me to a dinner at her Xs house ( yes they got along great) I helped her with the dishes and we dried our hands with the towel hanging on the stove. We were informed that the towel was for decoration and the drying towel is hanging on the fridge door. We got a big laugh but she wasn’t amused. We didn’t tell her we used the ones in the bathroom. I personally don’t like “seasonal” things.
My mom used to have the handtowels in the kitchen as decorative Christmas themed ones that she didn’t want us to use… only to have out as part of the decorations, but I think it’s more than a little pathological that Nancy won’t let them use disposable paper towels she left right near the sink. It’s like she WANTS something to correct her family about.
My favorite was a Christmas toilet lid cover. Santa’s face was on the top side, and Santa covered his eyes on the bottom side so he wouldn’t see when you lifted the lid
Aaah, she bought those paper towels 15 years ago and they stopped making them after that so she has carefully hoarded and preserved them for the sake of her decor. Mmm yes, I know this pattern very well.
I must be really weird. I never, in the past, put out anything for the holidays that was just to look at, such as towels. Even during the worst of covid, if someone came in my house, I begged them to use the guest towels and set them aside for me to launder, but no. I also had both soap and hand sanitizer in the guest bathroom. Too many people are afraid to touch guest anything. So why bother? I don’t decorate for holidays anymore. Don’t care, either.
Tip for Nancy…all the holiday plastic ware, zip bags, tissues, paper towels, etc will be marked way down right after the 25th. Buy them then and store them with the decorations! Then you can actually use them throughout the holiday!
I’ve never heard of Christmas paper towels. Speaking of towels, the few Christmas dish towels that we have aren’t absorbent enough to dry dishes. I guess they’re for decoration only.
Hey, chill out, Nancy! The Christmas paper towels are NOT something to be preserved for posterity unto all eternity. They’re just paper towels, with some decoration!

Sheesh, Nancy!
Luann is finally doing some self-motivated cleaning and YOU, are complaining!
On a different note, I wonder where Nancy stores all those decorations once the holidays are done? In Luann’s room?

Nancy’s right! Those are expensive and get saved for Christmas. Luann should have just used a dish towel.
