I have bought a number of nice things for my own Janis, and she won’t wear them because she doesn’t want to wear them out or use them up. So, I no longer buy nice things for her.
It’s sweet that she likes to conserve, but I really want to see her use the things that I buy for her.
My hubby and I would have winter hot dog roasts in the back yard in winter when I got home from my classes at 9pm. We wrapped up in sleeping bags, leaned against each other and watched the fire and the night sky. Good memory of a man who died too young.

It’s more valuable to her as a point of contention

That’s why she never wears it. Saves it for a special occasion. Maybe Arlo’s funeral if he gets hot dog sauce on it.

Ya gotta keep ’em off balance, Arlo. Go out and bay at the next full moon; Jan. 6th. The Wolf Moon.

Janis, are you complaining that Arlo isn’t boring, or just commenting on the fact?

Besides, I look better in it.

I didn’t know that hotdogs were traditional Yule fare.

Can she not appreciate the spontaneity of her husband? I think it was a sweet and funny gesture. Janis nags an awful lot!

The dry cleaners might (or might not) be able to get the smoke smell out of her coat…the hot dog grease might be a different matter.

Years ago a neighbor invited us to a Solstice Celebration. She was a friend and a self-proclaimed witch. It was an interesting evening.

Thank you, Arlo (and, of course, Jimmy), for reminding us of the real reason for the season!

If it was her best coat, you’d think that it would fit her better. Unless Arlo is scrawny.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Arlo was wearing Janis’s “Favorite Hat” as well. Women buy weird things like that.

Arlo looks like the European Father Christmas before Santa was remade for Coca Cola.

I think Arlo must have smoked alot of wacky tobacco in his youth! Maybe now to.

My bride has some jewelry she says is “too good” to wear everyday. Who do we need to impress so much that it requires “good jewelry”…no one.

A lot of people may be doing that for their holiday meal if we get power outages due to the winter storm expected here starting early Friday morning.
