Just what Sophie needed, a kindred soul to walk her through this difficult adjustment!

and now we see her sweet little smile. side-note, my goddaughter is called Sophie. but she is also referred to as stormy because her temper can come on like a raging storm on an otherwise sunny day. she is quite the diva.

Oh sweet and what a wonderful ending to the diary.

I knew this arc was going to make me cry :’)

My turn to translate. “April 28th. Carl and Admiral Whiskers visit the bureau everyday and chat. They are patient and supportive. They are good friends.” (Picture of Lady Jane listening to them saying “Hi!” and “Hello.”) Next frame. Sophie says, “Yes, they are.” 3rd frame. “Nov. 28th. An update. It’s been well over a year since I left this diary and the bureau behind. I traded solitude for a loving home and my family of Freddie, Carl, and the Admiral.” 4th frame. “I hope this has brought you courage and comfort when you needed it.” Sophie says, “It has.”

She’s coming out, guys! Ready the room!

Elvis-Anum: I did. And found something extraordinary as well. Let me read this passage:

Attending class at Really Neat Stuff Academy was scary at first. Then I gradually began to make friends, not least of whom is Princess Maew from Siam. She and I have an interest in drawing and painting, and I find I also have a talent for sculpture. It is my hope that I will be a painter in the court of His Majesty, Almon-Joybar

Sophititi: That’s Really Neat, Elvis. Do we find out what happened to Jamila and Maew.

Graduation is a bittersweet time. I am proud to win the Found Object Award, and happy for Maew as well, she having won the Painting Award. But now our paths must part as she returns to Siam to take her place in the court of her father, King Ruang. But we will remain friends forever.

Beatrixia: That sounds like what we learned in the History Scrolls. They went on to say Jamila went on to create many sculptures for a Pyramid near Afar. But it didn’t say which one, or exactly where it is.

Agnes-Ata: But it doesn’t say why the diary was sent to you, Elvis.

Once I believed when I had to move right here

I had to hide under the bureau, full of fear!

But with cats, those two

I know Sophie only has one eye, but why is she drawn with only half a mouth?

Well, it’s the darndest thing! The-Foggy Screen Alert Meter-Is still sounding , even though it’s unplugged! Wait…and now it’s crying happy tears!

Dang inferior screen just went all blurry on me!!

Of all the cats here, I identify with Sophie most. And I just figured that out. I never liked her much before this because she was too stand-offish. She’s just an introvert!

How very wonderful! I can’t tell if Sophie or Tommy is speaking in panel two, but they are right. Good for Lady Jane! Like Angus, she is letting cats of the future know the Big Pink House is a place of love for all cats, and now it is time for Sophie to discover that herself.

Extroverts (like me) don’t understand the terror new situations have for introverts (like Marie).

I just want to hug all of them!

Will Sophie leave her bureau-sanctuary tomorrow, emboldened by Jane’s account of a happy new life, and ready to embrace her new world?

I’m still reading day before yesterday’s BCN, but I wanted to repeat this possibly OT comment I made there as a tribute to my Nikki’s previous owner:

My cat Nikki, I can’t remember if the shelter said that her previous owner died, or went into care. Nikki has the clipped ear of a feral, but it is perfectly obvious that she had a good home and loved her previous servant. I wonder sometimes if the reason she always wants to slip through any door that’s usually closed is because she’s still looking for her missing friend. I thank that missing friend for Nikki being such a loving lap cat.

Eh me want more pictures and less texts please.

OMC! everything I look at is blurry, not just the computer screen. My eyes have sprung leaks. Get the Kleenex, lots of it!

Come on, sweet Sophie. Borrow some of Lady Jane’s courage, come out from under the bureau, and explore your new home with Tommy at your side.

I am hoping this means that tomorrow’s strip will show Sophie out from under the bureau and enjoying her new sun spot!

So great!

Currently dog and giunnea pig sitting. It is quiet here. Even more quiet than under the bed with the cats where it is safe. Housemate is taking care of the inside and outside clowders for me. I don’t think she wants me to come home (but it is my house), and I’m allergic to dogs.

This comic strip also brings courage and comfort.

A plesant ending to this wonderful arc.. well almost ending. But either way it’s nice to get more sophie spotlight and more backstory.

I hope there is more to the diary. I have questions.

I think it’s a wonderful coincidence that the bureau just happened to be left there for Sophie to get under and find just the diary she needed to make the transition. I see a little intervention here from Freddie and Angus.

What’s up with Sophie’s blue eye? I’ve not noticed before there to be some kind of object in it. I was thinking it was a tear, but I’m not sure. Gonna have to check previous appearances to see if Georgia’s always had that whatever there on her.

Sometimes a cat can adapt to change.

We had a very sweet grey Maine C00n cat named Lady Jane. We had watched Lady Jane the night before and at the shelter she found us and we took her home. She made the place so much cozier with her presence.

I can’t believe I’ve only just realized that Sophie has heterochromia!
