As far as Mike is concerned, formal ain’t normal.

And I did.

And in every guy in a T-shirt there’s a kid wanting to get out and play. Not easy keeping that little fella back, I must admit. ;-)

Hence why some guys call those monkey suits.

I mean when I was younger I hated having to dress up, but by the time I was 17/18 and for something like a grad? I didn’t know any guy who had to be forced into a suit…

Next, Elly will feed her ego even more by shooting endless photos of the embarassed Michael!!

Formal smormal, t-shirts and blue jeans is formal enough

I have to wear one of those the 19th of August. And I’m not even getting married……….

You know you got a great baby sitter for April when the baby sitter is already opening a can of beer even when the family still haven’t left the house!

Just for the record, in Canada it is probably either Carling Red Cap or Molson Export.

And here’s the payoff for those who were confused about when and where Mike was going to wear the tux.

A red cummerbund? Oh no no no. Cummerbund should match the tie. it needs to be black. (The one time I wore a tux was at my brother’s first wedding. The bride insisted on bright green ties and cummerbunds, to match the bridesmaid dresses. I would have preferred something more subdued. So would the Best Man. We wore bright green.)

Well, there is, but you can keep him in for a little while, Mike.

Inside almost every wife or girlfriend of a guy, there’s an image of that guy in a suit.

The only time I wore a ‘tux’ was when I took my girlfriend (soon to be fiancee) to the ‘Mil Ball’ on the campus of Ball State University—to me it was no worse that getting into a suit to go to church on Sunday Morning.

I wore a tux to a wedding once. It wasn’t awful, but for most occasions I had dress Blues and those were good enough for anything. I suppose I may need a tux again.

Waiting for Mom to come out of the grocery store, we sat in the car in our t-shirts and shorts on a summer day and watched the town lawyer walk in the barber shop…with a suit and tie on! You don’t forget craziness like that ever!

I was waiting for April to ask what formal meant

The goal of men’s formal wear. Dressed up so you don’t look out of place and no one notices you.

I always hated putting on ties because the shirts I had were always too tight at the neck and getting the top button closed was a PITA

Ellie’s happy anyway. Maybe John too, though it’s hard to tell. But Michael is just hoping to survive.

Best of both worlds…wear one of those t shirts painted like a tuxedo.

For orchestra musicians, tuxes and formal (black) dresses or pantsuits are just work clothes. Although some orchestras are relaxing the dress code to just “professional-look” black, which can be more comfortable.

and every single guy when he first puts his tux on says these words…. ‘’Bond…. James Bond’’…….. ( every single time)

Feel the same way about formal wear. And I am a girl.

Moms… aren’t they great? Mike WILL survive…

I wore a tux once, for my brother’s wedding. When they told me I needed a Tux for my Knights of Columbus 4th degree ceremony I said I will stay at 3rd degree. Still am.

It’s good to see Grandma Marian again, but why didn’t Grandpa Jim come to the graduation?

So, is the joke that Michael is more uncomfortable wearing a tux than having a bunch of people standing around, silently staring at him.

I’m sure he’d rather be wearing a Canadian Tuxedo.

Elizabeth opens the refrigerator door to get a pull-tab soda and the first thing April thinks is “Where’s Michael?” What is that there can be about opening a refrigerator to get a soda that reminds April of Michael. Hmm!

I had to wear a coat and tie where I worked before I retired. Haven’t worn a tie since, but I remember a few times when I had to rent a tux for a special occasion. I liked the way I looked and felt in one and would have bought a tux if there were enough places to go using it.

Stop slouching… stop complaining and man up, Mike. You’ll look way better.

Speaking of formal wear, I really liked that blue jeans advertizing campaign about jeans and the funeral wake… If I remember correctly it was a salute to Levi’s 501 jeans on the 150th anniversary.

Is there a strip where Michael has his wedding wearing camoflage trousers, army boots, a Rebel flag T-shirt, a Willie Nelson hairdo and a beard? If the answer is no, why is he whining about looking nice for a dance?
