It seems that Earl leads a pretty crumby life, with a pretty crumby wife.

That does sound like good bread, though

I used to like “Hillbilly Bread” but since they don’t make it anymore, the closest I’ve come to it is the current 9-grain bread. It still leaves crumbs too.

Besides being the funniest comic, Pickles also has the punniest comments. :^D

… and it has a certain pleasing aroma.

I have been accused of the crumbs part!

And it’s wry.

His soft center is blood and guts.

That’s just mean.

Is the bread have a spouse who’s unable to contain her contempt? If so, the commonalities are pretty impressive!

I used to buy 5 grain bread for my lunches, and my youngest grandkid called it ‘polka dot’ bread because of the seeds on the crust.

Sometimes, Opal’s need to converse is worse than inane.

Here we go again…. (LOL)

An ongoing issue in this house, but I’m working on it. Collect enough and you can make an extra slice.

I know a couple who are much like Earl and Opal. “Earl” and I often walk together, as old codgers tend to do, usually when “Opal” has other plans and “Earl’s” absence is greatly desired (think book clubs, bridge games, and the like). We were taking a break on a park bench one afternoon, and somehow the conversation had drifted to famous last words and/ or epitaphs, when “Earl” quipped, "I’d like my tombstone to read, ‘I can’t hear you.’ " I chuckled over that all afternoon.

Opal is the biggest instigator…doesn’t she ever stop?

And easily gets moldy.

Well, at least Earl will never be lost.

We all do, and it keeps The Dust Man employed.

Not just like him. It smells a lot better.

A trail of breadcrumbs should help him find his way home if you decide to leave him in the forest..

Opal is like Crisco. Fat in the can.

No baked goods company will want that as the ad for their bread.

And Earl’s jokes are stale.
