It seems that BB-Eyes, Doubleup, and Mumbles are still in prison, unless he’s just picturing what they looked like his “first time in the pen,” but then he wouldn’t be avoiding them now. So, I guess that means they are still in prison.
Shadow more or less knew how Sprocket escaped and even gave her half the money from their latest scan before kissing her good bye. She was not happy about that at the time.
Maybe Gameboy will show up, & he’ll have a Monopoly game, with contraband cleverly hidden inside, that will enable him to lead the others in a Great Escape style break-out.
I would rather have him telling his story to someone else than this inner dream/mental rehash. Dialogue has been an effective tool for exposition and discovery since at least Greek theater.
1-HIYO:Hmmm. They don’t have sunglasses so they’re not members of my gang – THE SHADES.
MUMBLES: Gimme thoshades or I keelyou! HIYO: Huh? Errr, sure. You have a good day too.
2-HIYO:I wonder why I keep thinking about the most sensual frisk I ever received? Sure I enjoyed it but that don’t mean I shop at Target or drink Bud Light or somethin”
3- … However, I DID have to cross my legs in the interrogation room to hide the obvious. If only Tracy and I could re-create that magic moment in time! Something tells me – WE WILL – and within the next few weeks!
Okay, Silver might be just visualizing “The Evil Three”.
But BB Eyes IS in jail right now, where he’s belonged since 1942.
Doubleup was last seen escorting the new Ace of Spades tosafety. Mumbles DID turn up in the Art Dekko story.A puzzlement,as he’s guiltier than the other two put together.
Silver knows HOW Sis lammed, but he doesn’t know WHERE she is even if he wanted to tell. Police are mildly confused by “honor among thieves”(admittedly rare in Tracyville)
well, surgery is done and I am back… surgery was successful with only the tip of the middle toe of the right foot removed, as there was a sore with a tiny bit of bone exposed… the entire toe was NOT removed, just the tip, as there was no sign of any bone infection… I thought the procedure was going to take about maybe half an hour or even 45 minutes, but Doctor David said it only took 15 minutes for him to add a new one to his collection… LOL… but it was the pre-op and post-op that took HOURS to go through… so much to go through for so little actual surgery time… I went in at 9 in the morning and left at 4-5 in the afternoon… it wet well, still no drainage or any leakage from the wound at this time… I see my surgeon at the start of next week… and I am wearing a surgical sock over the dressing and must wear a surgical shoe for only a week and then I can go back to wearing a normal shoe… so for this coming week, no weight-bearing on the foot, heel-walk when necessary and keep it elevated and then I’m good to go… so that’s it, easy peasy, went without a hitch… better than what I expected… so yeah, I’m back and I WILL be back here starting now… so thanks for all the good word and wishes and prayers you all sent my way… they all worked and they were appreciated, so thank you again…
and now, as to the story so far…
it appears that the Jumbler just happens to be his bunkie and may not be involved really, so my hopes for this story has risen again, but still curious as to where this is all leading to… so it looks like this arc has some hope, after all… we shall see…
oh, and an early Memorial Day note today…
took all the servicemen and servicewomen of all the branches that we have lost in the service of our great country, I thank you ALL for your service and dedication to our nation… your ultimate sacrifice will not be forgotten… what we all have here and now is due to you and your efforts to keep us safe… God bless…
Silver Nitrate continues to reflect on his life in crime and how he got put away by Tracy, not once but twice.
I’m not sure if BB-Eyes, Doubleup, and Mumbles are all “really” present with Silver in panel 1 or if they are, so to speak, figments of his imagination, just other inmates he has met (for better or for worse) in the joint at one time or another.
Interesting to me is the way the script emphasizes by way of bold face and final position the escape of Sprocket. I am strongly tempted to take that as a Foreshadowing, implying that she will make an appearance, soon, and perhaps break Silver out of prison, perhaps along those other three villains in panel 1, who might then form up a Nefarious Four (five with Sprocket counted) and unleash a colossal crimewave on Tracyville….
Intro (skip if you’ve already read any of the previous intros):
Hello, greetings, casual readers of past Tracy stories. I’m here because I’m on 2 missions. The first is something I’ve never done before, read each Tracy story by Mike Curtis (or his occasional guest writer) in one sitting each. I feel his stories are worth it. IMHO, Curtis is by far the best post-Gould writer this strip has ever had, and we’re all lucky to have him.
My second mission is to provide an immediately useful Featured Comment whenever needed. My 3 friends below will reply to me. You can read their replies if you like, but their only real purpose is to bump up this comment to the Featured Comment.
There are 2 basic types of immediately useful Featured Comments: anytime that day’s strip quotes a real song. I will provide an html to a recording to that song so you’ll know the tune even if you’ve never heard it before. The other type (this type) is to provide you with a Mumblespeak translator when needed.

Prison is so boring, he’s decided to run a stream-of-consciousness internal monologue every day.

I wonder why Mumbles is in the joint. Last we saw him, he was living the “furee” life.

Why is it I have this uncanny feeling of a major prison breakout happening in the near future?

The third time is either going to a charm or he’ll get perp walked by Tracy again.

Let’s see, did Sprocket escape by disguising herself as an ordinary woman? Not a mechanical genius one, who wears sunglasses most of the time.

Good for Silver, refusing to spill the beans!

….perhaps he’s stuck in the “revolving door” of the ’ol penal system…….not what “A Clockwork Orange” Alex meant by “the old in-out-in-out”, but……………

If I were writing this,Silver would be in line for one of those “it takes a crook to catch a crook” deals from the FBI.
When Public Domain broke them out,he and Sprocket were delighted until he started snooting them and treating them like lackeys.
That was when they gave him the shaft and beat it.
